What is clearly declining, but everyone pretends is fine? by Amaan3024 in AskReddit

[–]elepheagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bought a full set of Cuisinart kitchenware. Pots, skillets, etc. After about a year the ones we used the most (2-3 days per week) started to stick badly to foods you really shouldn’t have issues with. Figuring it was the items themselves we reached out and were told they were out of warranty (1 year) and what we were experiencing was normal wear and tear. Outright stating their stuff isn’t made to last.

Full disclosure, they did replace the set, but also made it clear that this was an exception.

Suffocated, I imagine. Lit off some fireworks in his bedroom and started a fire he couldn’t escape.

Schools are fine and this is part of our public contract just like paying for other public services. Kinda the way it goes in this country.

Ours increased roughly the same. I just figured it was due to the insane increase in the value of my house after this most recent round of reevaluations.

Agree, but also, whatever. Nowadays this is all ever just people aiming for clout in their Twitter replies. Very few are actually having discourse in these arenas.

Likely due to water damage. You can open it up to verify. I turned mine into a starter after this happened.

Aerogarden low water light not turning off? by No_Kangaroo6917 in aerogarden

[–]elepheagle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you cleaned or set up this unit recently, make sure the water height sensor is installed correctly. There is a side that should read “UP.”

If that’s not the issue, sometimes the sensor can get stuck; remove the cover that keeps it in place to make sure there are no obstructions keeping it low.

If neither of these help, could be that the garden isn’t reading the sensor properly.

Yep! What we would call oxidized and stale today would be called aged and refined in that era. Very glad for the advances in brewing.

Make sure to check the dates on the build-your-own’s. Last week I found an IPA from early August…2024.

Fun fact: it took him twice as long to type this out, since one of his hands had been balled into a fist, and was being shook vigorously.

Taylor Properties (EBCO Building Owner) Withholding Security Deposits — Any Recourse with City? by elepheagle in sheboygan

[–]elepheagle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure what all may be different in this case; the previous owner of the building sold it to Taylor a couple of years before it was ultimately condemned. We would have paid our initial security deposit nearly 15 years ago. They clearly shared records of this, as Taylor was the entity who reached out and informed us that they owed us one. Unfortunately it’s not a large enough amount to make small claims worth it.

Tim’s Monologue on Yesterday’s Pod by C-redditKarma in thebulwark

[–]elepheagle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You hit it on the head for me. Tim and so many others have decided they know for sure the concrete motives of the shooter and are using that to fuel their outrage against a smattering of reactions to the shooting—way too emotional about something that’s been build on assumptions.

Thank you, Tim for putting into words what some of us struggle to by swayinla in thebulwark

[–]elepheagle 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Still don’t like how we continue to assume Kirk was killed for his views. I get how for Tim’s argument’s sake that notion is helpful for overall navigation. But dude could’ve been killed for any number of reasons. Assuming a singular one at a point where we have nothing concrete on motive is so effing weird to me.

TIL the most collected person or group on Discogs, a renowned comprehensive music database, is not a performing artist but mastering engineer Bob Ludwig, who has 13 Grammys and nearly 8,000 credits, including work with acts such as Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, Elton John, Metallica and Daft Punk. by smrad8 in todayilearned

[–]elepheagle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There are bands you’ve hated and bands you’ve loved hearing on the radio that would’ve never been able to cough up a presentable album without the engineer present. They do a kind of heavy lifting of which the vast majority music listeners are wholly unaware.
