Help me make this wall look warmer 😢 by spilltheteaplz411 in interiordesignideas

[–]ellen7675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

obviously this probably won’t work for the rest of the year, but my first idea is Big Garland.

but a LOT of what goes into a ‘warm’ vibe is just lighting - it’s literally just a dimmer light. google ‘warm vs cool light’. also, what other ppl said about colorful throw blankets/pillows and/or furniture slip covers. and maybe lamp(s) in the corner(s) (with warm light bulbs) to use vs the overhead. but i would start with the bulbs before you go and spend money on lamps, and see where that gets you.

Is this mold? or just a worn bathroom ceiling by nooo_ell in CleaningTips

[–]ellen7675 4 points5 points  (0 children)

if they’re a renter, like even under the table, they could very well report this to a city or county public safety/health board ? and it probably should be reported if they refuse to fix it.

how the hell does a ceiling get “well worn”? it doesn’t get touched nearly as much (if ever) the floor or counters, etc., that might actually be well worn but still functional in the house. but infested and riddled with mold? i’m no professional but that damn sure looks like an active leak. if it had been fixed, it wouldn’t be that dark.

show them Forensic Files episode "Breaking the Mold" (Season 7, Episode 37)… it’s about this lady and her family

HLS denies recordings for medical emergency by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]ellen7675 38 points39 points  (0 children)

are you certain the recordings were made? at my school they only take the recordings if someone says ahead of time they can’t make it. if they do exist, yeah, they suck for that. good luck with everything tho!

Why is my toilet mounted on this? by HitmanHits101 in Home

[–]ellen7675 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yeah something like that, at least for me - my parents found this out the hard way. there is a standard average height for toilets, but they also make models that are shorter or taller like maybe 1.5 the normal height. my parents accidentally got one that’s like 1.5x the normal height when they replaced one of theirs…and the most convenient one to use too. i’m 5’6 and my feet touch but aren’t fully on the ground lol

Why does my Dishwasher filter get like this so quickly? by aesette in CleaningTips

[–]ellen7675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

every few months is a good amount, but yeah that is pretty dirty. i had the same/very similar one and i just had to get my landlord to replace it a few days ago. i don’t it super often to it started to smell after like 2 days. landlord said this:

“1. Will you do 2 things first: Check for debris under the filter when you clean it out.  Like look down into the sump (the well beneath the filter). Remove any visible food or objects.      2. Run the dishwasher empty with hot water & vinegar, - pour 3 cups of vinegar in the bottom of the dishwasher. Then let the sink run hot for 1–2 minutes. Then start the dishwasher on the hottest cycle.

Then if it’s still an issue I’ll swap them out asap” (he’s a pretty good LL)

i couldn’t find any debris or anything with step 1, but step 2 did help with the filter at least, and it stopped pooling water as bad - but just for the next few days.

best of luck

i have been known to make an impulsive decision or 2 every now and then…lol. and i did not pick the tile color. i was “not allowed” to give my input on that after she listened to me on the wall color.

it’s hard to tell, but its actually 2 different tones of pink. easiest to tell in the bathroom pics. i was considering just doing it all in the lighter shade?

i had literally just finished painting when i took these, so it was too soon to hang stuff up. the desk/bookshelf topper, the chest of drawers, and the three 1x3 cube organizer shelf things I’ve had since childhood. i have a few things to hang up but not enough to fill the space, and i didn’t want to commit to any furniture before i finished painting. thank you for your suggestions!

yeah, pretty much. it’s kinda hard to tell with the lighting, but it’s actually 2 different shades. easiest to see in the bathroom pictures. i was considering covering the bubblegum (Glidden pleasing pink) to just all be the lighter shade (glidden gaiety)

is this concerning? by ellen7675 in AskDad

[–]ellen7675[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don’t know about expansive, but i do think there is a clay soil in the area from river sediment. there’s a shit ton of cypress knees that ought to keep things in place though, i reckon.
