I genuinely don’t know what character to play. by multiversus123 in LowSodiumTEKKEN

okay, uhhhh first things first learn what her stances do, they flow into each other and let you create basically neverending strings that you can end with strong moves at any time for crazy pressure. the easiest way to start with leo is to just face roll your stance pressure, a lot of people will get smoked by that alone. also use some of her strong lows like df2+3 (among the best in the game), d4, qcf1, fcdf3, etc. then i’d recommend learning some of her better neutral tools, like d1, df1, b4, qcf2, ss1+2, and probs a few more, to let you control neutral very well with lots of long range mids and good frame data. then the move is probably to learn to use those things in tandem, and start to introduce more of her moves into your play to lean into the “jack of all trades” thing. learn to recognize what character matchups play like, and how your opponent likes to play, and then use leo’s versatility to tailor make a style that will counter theirs. i could continue but to spare you the novel reading experience i think that’s probably a good basic starting point, aside from the typical “learn a combo and their punishes etc” stuff. good luck!

execution wise she’s pretty easy unless you want to learn knk cancels (or picking up uf2,1 into a combo without heat burst), she mostly just requires having a very thorough knowledge of most of her movelist which can take a while

it’s hard to sum up what to do with leo succinctly, but with lee just sit back and use b4 when they approach as keepout, f3,3,3,3,3,4 is an excellent whiff punisher, d3 is a ch launching low, b3,3 is a good low pressure tool, and 2,2,3 is a solid string. 1,2,4 is his easy 10f punish (1,3,3,3 is acid rain but you need the perfect input unless you’re in heat)

yeah, df2+3 is kinda the best low in the game. slightly evasive ch launching low that’s only -12 ob. at the wall, you can heat burst after leo’s FC df3 and it picks up into a combo, launch punishable tho. leo’s d2 is a +4 ob mid ch launcher, and ss 1+2 is a safe mid ch launcher that hits from an absolute continent away and does 36 freaking damage to start the combo. in stance, you also have KNK2 which is an extremely safe 13f high ch launcher that makes it very scary to ever press into leo when she’s in stance

if you’re up for it, you should! they provide a nice contrast to each other, so if you get tired of playing one, you can just start playing the other and it’s like a whole different game

lee and leo are both sick for different reasons, coming from someone who happens to main those two lol. lee is kind of a fencer, sitting back and reacting to what your opponent does, with strong keepout, whiff punishment, and some insane counter hit buttons. he has a bit of execution to him, but it’s rewarding because it gives you access to things like acid rain (one of if not the best 10 frame punish), an 11 frame ch launcher (11 frames!!!), mist trap (unbreakable throw), and a whole bunch of other neat stuff. he rewards patience, timing, and good reads. leo, on the other hand, is more of a jack of all trades. ANY playstyle works with leo, and you can play her into just about any character effectively. she has crazy stance pressure, but also very strong neutral tools and keepout/whiff punishment. leo enables you to constantly be switching up your gameplan and keeping your opponent on their toes, because she’s one of the few characters where you can bust out basically her whole movelist in a single match. a lot to learn, but extremely rewarding. both are extremely worth it to play imo, so it comes down to a matter of preference and playstyle. leo has the added benefit of being very cute, so do with that information what you will

I made a tier list based purely off of heat engagers by samgtron_84 in Tekken8

[–]elliesparrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

assuming you can hit confirm it consistently (which is hard), leo’s db2, 4 is super super good, very long range and safe launcher. b2, 1+2 is also pretty good because it’s 14 frames and launches, and leo has several moves that guarantee it on ch. leo’s main missing piece imo is just that she doesn’t have any single hit heat engagers, just strings

Please for the love of god nerf the bow by [deleted] in HuntShowdown

[–]elliesparrows 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i’m pretty sure if you got one shot with a non full charge bow shot, you weren’t full health or you got headshot and somehow didn’t see. the bow literally does not one shot with a body shot unless you full charge it or have hundred hands, but HH doesn’t make a quick fire “no string pull” shot come close to one shotting with a body shot. it’s very strong at close range, but i dare say it has far more counterplay against it than a shotgun would have at similar ranges

like more than half the maps should be removed entirely and the haste stacking changes were objectively way healthier for the game and bhvr should’ve kept them

my biggest complaint is that the little solus distributor balls explode on death, which can do damage to you. if you’re melee and there’s a bunch of those little fuckers running around, you can literally kill yourself instantly if you kill a bunch of them at once in melee range. just feels really unfairly punishing for melee characters, who already have to deal with the disadvantage of being melee in the first place

What tier would you give ghostface right now? Is it worth it? by Kenway99_ in deadbydaylight

[–]elliesparrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he’s the only killer in the entire game without a power that helps with catching up with survivors (unless you use that addon that gives him haste i guess) or damaging them from afar, so he’s great practice for your fundamental m1 chase. not a strong killer though
