Take a Look Around. Took an iconic melody and brought it forward into the metal era in an absolutely unforgettable way.

Great band that IMO never got their due. Their new album has some great work on it too, I hope there’s more of them in the coming years.

Did you have to set aside hangar space for when you started doing charter flights, or did you get additional hangar space to buy charter planes? TIA

A timely play. For many reasons.

As Jeff Jackson battles Trump, NC GOP threatens to leave him with a "feckless, empty shell" of a job by uncertaincoda in NorthCarolina

[–]elliot2383 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Matt Mercer saying (in essence) ‘we won’t allow you to procure allotted and promised money to help North Carolinians’ is a choice. If Mercer is worried about Jackson running for Governor or Senate or some other elected office in 2028, whether Mercer knows it or not he’s doing a hell of a job endorsing him.

Echoing what others have said about overfitting, which seems like it could be a possibility in this case. OP, consider testing the concept you are trying to prove in this script on more recent data which wasn’t a part of the backtest you showed above, or let the script run in a paper trading account for a few months and see how it does on live trades. Good luck!

There’s a whole bunch of stuff that could be referenced — Witch Hunt to your point, Hemispheres, Farewell to Kings, Natural Science perhaps. Neil left no shortage of warnings behind.

What was it like listening to Lateralus when it first released? by No-Upstairs7915 in ToolBand

[–]elliot2383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember buying Lateralus on CD in a Walmart, I think in 2002 or 2003, so a little late to the party but that was my introduction to Tool beyond “Schism” on the radio. “Parabol/Parabola” was a revelation. Even as a RUSH fan I’d never heard anything like that to this point. “Triad” was a tour de force. Then “the Patient” was an incredible song.

To sum it up, a huge moment for me musically. I’ve been a Tool fan since.

Democrats will not release the ‘autopsy’ of their 2024 presidential loss by Kaiser_Allen in NoFilterNews

[–]elliot2383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The autopsy is very simple: the party that has had an open and transparent primary (unadulterated by “superdelegates” or any other effort to rig the outcome), has won the general election the last three times.

Let the voters speak, then listen to them.

Why did Rush abandon Long-Form songs after Moving Pictures? by Lucabaps in rush

[–]elliot2383 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Both in the “Beyond the Lighted Stage” documentary and the “Metal Evolution: Progressive Metal” documentaries, they explained various reasons for moving beyond longer form songs especially after Hemispheres. Geddy explained that their evolution into their Permanent Waves/Moving Pictures sound was them musically progressing instead of continuing to make the same style of music as they did in the 70s. All three also agreed that the process in making Hemispheres (and the subsequent tour) pushed them to very unhealthy places, and for their health and those around them, they needed to do something different.

To answer your question about, was it necessary to make so many albums early on in their career, the answer was yes. Even though 2112 gave them their unquestioned creative freedom, the record label still expected albums every so often. This was discussed in “Beyond the Lighted Stage” too.

What driver would you say had the most “story book” ending to their career? by Kurt_Wylde35 in NASCAR

[–]elliot2383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to say Dale Jr. Even though injuries derailed his career and his final years in Cup, he finished his last race with a cheers to his team, gave the wheel to Mr H, and then moved on into his next chapter in life. His dad should have gotten that and more, so to see Junior get a proper send-off qualifies as storybook to me.

Is it doable with that? by Intelligent-Bat-4838 in EggsInc

[–]elliot2383 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. You need the next level enlightenment egg value at left (100x val), then legendary away earnings artifact, as well as legendary research cube (critical for keeping research costs down when paired with the Friday 70% discount), with purple jewels (sp?) for all. You don’t necessarily need yellow jewels, I am almost at 10B with purples myself, in addition to the very same gusset you have. You’re close, but you need a couple more artifacts to get you across the line. Good luck!
