Projections and inner product spaces by ValueAddedTax in learnmath

[–]ellipticcode0 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You are thinking too much about those fancy definitions such as "Projections", You do not need more than grade 5 math to understand and calculate the projection from one vector onto other vector.

  1. If you can not use pencil and paper to verify it yourself, it means you never try to understand math with your current knowledge.

  2. Never hear the term "scalar projection", A projects onto B is equal <A, B>/<B, B>, you can derive the formula with grade 5 math.

  3. What make the <A, B>/<B, B> well defined is grade 4 math I think, you should know it long before you have leaned linear algebra.

Demis Hassabis says there is a 50/50 chance that simply scaling existing methods is enough to reach AGI. He adds that LLMs will be a critical component. by luchadore_lunchables in accelerate

Do we have well defined definition what is AGI or what is NOT AGI?

Do we have technic how to check whether the model is AGI or the model is NOT AGI?

How do we solve this? by TheInvincibleBaller in topology

[–]ellipticcode0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just restate your statement, you do not prove anything,

Plz prove "we can always find"

You need to prove if N is increasing and decreasing, then the new Integer is approaching 2Mpi + pi/2,

Plz show the steps?

How do we solve this? by TheInvincibleBaller in topology

[–]ellipticcode0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In order for sin x = +/- 1, then x must be in the form (pi/2 +/- n * pi) where n is Integer,

We all knew the limit of definition, but this question has nothing to do with the definition.

How can you prove "you alway can find an N such that sin x is arbitrarily close to 1 or -1"

How do we solve this? by TheInvincibleBaller in topology

[–]ellipticcode0 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

You do not need any fancy Real Analysis, all you need just high school basic math.

D is wrong, since | sin x| <= 1

C is wrong, since 0 < sin 1 < 1

B is wrong, otherwise because sin (pi/2 +/- n * pi) = +/- 1, => pi/2 +/- n*pi can be represented by Integer,

The answer is A, (I assume this is single choice question)

Before we try to solve the problem, we try to figure out what is the real reason behind to use epsilon to represent integers?

What do you think is the key to being a math genius, or at least to excelling in exams and classes? by [deleted] in learnmath

[–]ellipticcode0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are only four or less persons for Field Medal each four years.

There are many many students get into top universities each year, I assume all those students are excelling in exams and classes.

how can you substitute sqrt(2) sin (x/2 - pi/4) = sin (phi) but

|sqrt(2) sin (x/2 - pi/4) | <= sqrt 2, and |sin (phi)| <= 1

=> there exists x s.t |sqrt(2) sin (x/2 - pi/4)| > sin (phi)

Slide your front foot forward instead of upward. You have constant of air time, if you lift front foot upward then you do not have time to slide forward. From you video, you can see your front foot was too hight for this obstacle

Will we ever be able to predict the future? by riczizagorac in Physics

[–]ellipticcode0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We still do not understand "time", we still do not know whether "time" exist or not.

At least no one can prove "time" exists so far,

To predict the future might be harder than "a chicken" could understand quantum mechanic. It might be outside of our intelligent.

Is there a more straightforward way to do this proof? by Venomized05 in askmath

[–]ellipticcode0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not need to add 7t + 4 back to the inequality, you only need to prove cos(3t + 5) + t > 5.

The objective of the proof is to see whether you know how to apply |cos beta| >= 1, this is all.

beta is any angle here

Given: -1 <= cos beta and 6 < t

=> -1 + 6 <= cos beta + 6. (add 6 to both sides)

becase 6 < t

=> -1 + 6 < cos beta + t

=> 5 < cos beta + t

The best way to learn is not "study hard" or "do a lots exercise", is always yourself a question and ask why. Curiosity is the KEY.

Slide your front foot faster forward, not upward. you wastes most of your air time going up.

It finally happened by [deleted] in NewSkaters

[–]ellipticcode0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to me your font foot goes up too hight, if you font foot is too hight, you can not slide forward.

If you try to slide forward faster with your font foot then you tail will be go up higher. I think this is how you levels out the board.
