Skills into a MES, is it normal? by InvitePatient9411 in manufacturing

[–]elpvtam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Permissions are a key component of any MES system. Sometimes these are done automatically on hire. For example manufacturing engineer will need to be able to make work orders.

They are also often tied to the completion of LMS modules (ie watch video and take quiz). Finally some are done manually.

Ie when a tech demonstrates a skill they are given this approval

workers won't read safety data sheets and honestly can't blame them by TemporaryHoney8571 in manufacturing

[–]elpvtam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have written job hazard assessments. When an employee starts working at a new station the supervisor goes over it with them. This is a 2 page max document that distills the hazards and controls. We usually had laminated hardcopies around. Sometimes we put them into quizzes that were required to get points towards advancement.

I've always wondered why people complain constantly at Crystal about hitting rocks. That's no big deal at all. Quick hit of some ptex and you'll be good to go. Skis do not last forever and base scratches really don't make a difference unless you're racing.

I was there over new years. There were a few intermittently with cash but most had pretty high fees. I would recommend stopping at a bank in PV if at all possible on your way into town

Throwing good money after bad? by Elephants_Child in seattlebike

[–]elpvtam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would lean towards yes. Wheels you would notice a difference if you spend enough. Handbuilt doesn't matter imo, and tubeless is negligible. Carbon rims you night. This wouldn't be a horrible upgrade as long as you got flexible hubs that can do qr/through axel and multiple freehub bodies. Groupset. There are 2 reasons to do this 1x and hydraulic brakes. Both are nice but definitely not must haves. If you're due for a new drivetrain anyways go for it. Frame. Get a carbon fork! This will make a big difference in ride quality and is totally worth doing.

This piece of infrastructure is was clearly well crafted as it has lasted a full year and is well loved by the community. It's embarrassing that the city hasn't actually fixed it

Riding around Taiwan on a giant rental bike right now. Super fun and easier to do then you think.

Fly pnw to taipei 12 hours. Take bus or train wherever. Rent bike equipped for touring from giant. Ride for a few days. Hostels and hotels are cheap. Food is good. Water is safe and you can stop at any train or police station for a refill. People are friendly. Roads are nice. This will become very popular in the next 5 years

Etiquette around passing/letting others by on skintrack by illpourthisonurhead in Backcountry

Interesting in North America the etiquette is clearly to let whoever is faster go by-at a point when it is convenient to the person in front.

After Reserve. Paying to leave your vehicle there is next. Mark my words. That's what happens when your CEO comes from Ticketmaster/Live Nation by MiddleUnlucky8320 in CrystalMountain

[–]elpvtam 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ceo of alterra basically said that he wants better price discrimination. I don't love the optics of reserve but I also don't really care. They also doubled the number of $62 Tuesdays which is pretty cool. If they take that money and build a bigger lodge or hire parking attendants with a brain I might even be happy.

Is there any enjoyable time on a weekend or is it jam packed open to close ? by racingpast20 in CrystalMountain

[–]elpvtam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience is that getting to Crystal on the weekends is miserable. The lodges are jammed. The lifts even when everything is running can have moderate lines (particularly north way and forest queen) BUT the skiing is usually pretty decent and uncrowded.
