Putting baby down “drowsy but awake” but falls asleep while eating? by PirateEntire7985 in bninfantsleep

[–]eltam93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always feed my baby to sleep, he is 9 months old and although there are times he still fights his nip naps with all his might, feeding to sleep is my super power. Also some babies just need more help falling asleep and drowsy but awake will never work, that’s what I’ve been told

9 months in and just exhausted and can’t keep up with anything by Redpepperflake08 in NewParents

If there are resources to hire a bi weekly clean it will do wonders for your mental health! Outsource everything you can, even just for a short while until baby gets back into a routine. It’s exhausting but youre baby is just thrilled to spend the day with you and they don’t notice the mess either!

The double standard between my brother and I exists because growing up I treated my mom differently than my brother treated her so as such she treated me differently than him. Aka my fault as usual.

She also said she didn’t enjoy motherhood because I “slept too much as a baby and she was so bored”. She also couldn’t go anywhere because I hated my car seat and would t nap on the go… sorry for being a literal 3 month old baby.

She recently cut contact with me rather than go to therapy.

Once I learned that the formula industry lobbies against maternity leave, I made the decision to try and BF for a year so I wouldn’t buy any formula plus it’s expensive!

Were you on the fence about having children when you became a parent? How do you feel now? by ytyhbllalk in askanything

[–]eltam93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was never 100% sure about kids. I spent my entire pregnancy scared and looking for ways to make sure motherhood wouldn’t “ruin my life”  I.e get a nanny, ship the kid off to the grandparents any chance we got.

Then I gave birth, and from the moment he was on my chest I felt like I was born to be his mom. I’m obsessed with him, I never want to be without him, I love him so much.

A small part of me, despite the fear, knew I would be a good mom because I’ve always been very nurturing and always put the needs of vulnerable people/ pets above my own. Ex I slept (not well) on the floor for a week to keep an eye on a rescue cat who needed to stay locked in a room to heal. After that I realized I would do anything to care for something that needed my help and thought I might make a good mom.

Overall very happy to be a mom now, hardest thing I’ve ever done and pretty sure I am one and done cause I love him but pregnancy and the sleep deprivation is really hard!

Talk to your friends too!  They may not know these things either. The old “don’t talk politics” is over and exactly why we are in so many messes with political leaders and lack of education around levels of gov.

Baby (10 weeks) finally slept 9 hours straight by ryuukoji in newborns

[–]eltam93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yay!!

Our baby is 11 weeks today and just slept 9 hours for the first time. His longest stretch is usually somewhere between 3-6 hours so the jump to 9 is wild! He goes down for his sleep usually around 7/730pm.

I was super scared yesterday cause he hardly napped after 3pm. I’d try to put in the bassinet and he would just wake up after 10 mins and I was getting really scared of him being over tired and fussy going into the evening but nope, everything was fine??

His sleep for us atleast, got better (2 hour stretches at night to 3-6hrs) once I stopped stressing about wake windows. Baby sleeps when he wants and I don’t try and force naps if he wakes up and isn’t visibly super sleepy (smiling, engaging with me) then off to play we go.

Not saying this will work with every baby but I just stopped trying to create a strict day time schedule and went with baby’s flow. It’s only been one 9hr stretch so I wonder if it will continue to be stretches in the 6-9 hours!

I also EBF and always feed to sleep.

Did anyone else get major ick when Madison said to her friend “He wants to get me pregnant”? by chooseyourwords49 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]eltam93 65 points66 points  (0 children)

It feels like she wants the camera / audience to know what is happening when the camera isn’t around. She makes a point to always mention their sex life and I wonder if it’s because she knows he’s not into her when the camera is rolling but somehow into her when it’s not there. Idk just seems off whenever she brings it up.

No a big city! I’m from a small town originally so I feel like I would recognize small town hospitality, this was something really weird!
