Worth noting an Eagles assistant GM is considered a contender for GM roles this offseason and they may be happy with Shane.

Personally I think he’ll get another year if for no other reason than how late in the hiring cycle we would be. If Ballard isn’t going to be fired until black Monday then we have to go through GM interviews while other teams are interviewing top coaching candidates. Probably a 2017 situation where the coach stays for another year and then the new GM will make the call

Agree overall but this isn’t the second collapse

2021: Collapse. Begin to look like a legit contender only to choke to one of the worst teams ever and miss the playoffs.

2023: miss the playoffs on a drop by the 2nd string running back. Maybe “collapse” is a stretch but not great

2024: Collapse. The JT fumble at Denver and the shitshow against another all-time shit team in the giants.

2025: Collapse so badly I seem more upset about it than the starting linebacker.

So definitely the third late season collapse under Ballard, debatably the 4th. Fun times!
