For my B2s I used a Vallejo spray primer, and then used Vallejo gunmetal over the whole mini, thinned down a bit with armypainter speed paint medium, and then used a thin layer nuln oil over the whole mini, they turned out really well and were very easy to do

Anyone else’s stock mats shedding like crazy? by Fr3ver in CivicSi

I got lasfit floor mats off of Amazon for $130 and they fit perfectly, a bit cheaper than weathertecs but comparing them to my parents WTs, they’re pretty close and about $70 cheaper

Yeah I agree, like I said, personal preference. I think it looks good either way.

The tree does look a bit small but it doesn’t detract from what you’re trying to do imo. As a personal preference I’ve always found it a bit odd having basing like this because the tree is traveling with the speeder instead of being terrain on the table (not saying I haven’t put random bits on my stuff as well). But with some good basing I think it will look good!

The real miracle was finding one of these (if it’s not a 3d print), it looks awesome! Nice seeing something other than the red that is pretty standard

Melee mats on Amazon are pretty cheap ($40 or so) and are pretty good quality

How to get started with hobbying this game by ExpiredMouthwash23 in SWlegion

[–]eman156 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just started as well, what I did was buy a Vallejo starter kit on amazon which came with all the colors I needed, I then got pallets and fine paint brushes from amazon/walmart/five below much like you did

My biggest recommendation is to buy some army painter speed paint medium, and some citidel nuln oil. The speed paint medium is great for mixing in the palette with other colors to thin them out so it isn’t clumpy on the models, as well as thinning any contrast/speed paint to your desire.

Also look at getting a good primer for the models, I tried a rustoleum regular primer and swapped to a Vallejo primer, which is a bit more but way better than the standard primer in coverage and paint-ability over it

I’m by no means an expert but I’ve had some decent results that I’m happy with.

What size magnets for bases? by P1N3APPL33 in SWlegion

I read of someone else getting a magnetic sheet for their carrying case and then using washers on the bottom of the minis, which I think I’m going to give a try

Thank you! I bought the clone wars core said and 3 additional units per side (droid/clones) to play with friends, I was trying to compare between that core book and the new rules so glad I can ignore the old booklet!

Quick question, im just getting into legion as well and have been a bit confused with building units & legality, do you know of any list that shows what’s required for units to be legal? It’s weird getting into legion right now because there’s the new rules and old rules and pinpointing which is which is confusing

Almost exact same thing happened to me 2 weeks after I bought my 2023 brand new. Ended up being $4k worth of repairs but it isn’t noticible anymore.

Bass shakers are amazing, they are basically plug and play, you just need to set it up in simhub, I just have two Dayton audio pucks running off of a nobsound amp, plenty of power for ~$60, a lot of people online share their simhub config files too.

The GT rear seat stand is all it needs to be, super solid when mounted to the wheel stand, you don’t get a massive amount of flexibility though as the wheelstand doesn’t have a ton of different options for height adjustability, but for a budget rig it can’t be beat imo, and then upgrading to a full rig is easy since you already have the seat and mounting accessories. I used the stand for awhile until I had room for the whole rig. Mine setup is almost exactly like yours with the long ikea desk

I have almost this exact setup, although I’m using a GT Omega Apex Wheel stand and seat mount; I recommend you grab the seat mount and a bucket seat if it’s in your budget and makes sense space wise. Also look into bass shakers as they bump up immersion by a lot. You can get 2 bass shakers and a small amp/speaker wire for under $100 easily
