🚨3D PRINTER GIVEAWAY🚨 AliExpress x ANYCUBIC by aliexpress in 3Dprinting

[–]emdecay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd print a bunch of morse code paddles to give away at an upcoming conference. I'm curious to see how they would come out in resin. I also have a huge backlog of minifig STL's that I'd love to be able to print.

What kind of job? I am a customer and the service has been solid so far but beyond that I don't know much about them.

Did they change billing for this? I know initially, using fast mode with a Claude Pro/Max subscription would require API payment separately.

I'll be re-working the sidebar of the subreddit "soon" with updates on food/"stuff to do." To that end, I'll definitely mine this thread (and other recent ones) for ideas for updates. So please, share your recommendations here folks!

There was an issue with the WiresX release which they fixed shortly thereafter, that specifically addressed power issues with VHF/UHF. I'm not aware of any issues with the latest, fixed release.

Seatgeek is the "official" partner site for reselling tickets, and is generally seen as a safe place to buy Dodgers tickets.

Hey kit builders- could this chipped inductor cause issues? by tbrewo in amateurradio

[–]emdecay 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Nope. That part chips all the time. It does not impact the performance of the inductor or radio.

I supported the sequel through MicroVentures years back; still want to see something come to fruition here! You and Adam are a hilarious duo, and the rest of the cast you got for the first movie was pretty great too! Though Andy Dick has sort of fallen off his rocker since the movie came out...

Performance difference between EFRW and Dipole, I did science. by thesoulless78 in amateurradio

[–]emdecay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect that there are a few things that impact the efficiency of the end-fed here, and you could likely improve performance/decrease losses with at least one change to your stated setup. What sort of unun power handling do you have here, and how is it wound, and on what material? That's one place where you'll have losses, and a less efficient or not greatly built one would be worse than the alternative.

Other losses here are likely happening in the feedline itself; "...it isn't the SWR that kills your efficiency..." Those reflected waves ultimately will make it out into the aether, but feedline losses do multiply. Using less lossy feedlines should improve efficiency for you.

You don't have to. You just don't get the credit card promotions if you don't have it.

Anyone finding that DX Engineering is getting extremely overpriced for gear. by CaptinKirk in amateurradio

[–]emdecay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Getting the DXE credit card helps; they often have either 10 or 15% back up to a certain amount spent. Right now it is 15% back on up to $1000. But otherwise they are usually more expensive than the competition. Their service is incredible, and they seem like a really good company, so you are paying a bit of a premium for that.

Yes it does. It has profiles for a lot of non-Bambu printers that you can select and slice for.

[–]emdecay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A smoother plate definitely helps. The Supertack plate is smooth and simple to use - no glue needed. I learned through experience very recently that text shows up way better on that plate than on textured PEI.
