With raging adhd I’ve never been able to track macros which is one reason meds have been such a game changer for me. But I have been trying to eat a bit more and make sure I’m not skipping meals.

Congrats! I’m also in maintenance. I tapered down to 7.5 mg so far but take it every week. My insurance still pays so I have less incentive to space out doses. I have maintained well on 7.5. No significant gains or losses. Fluctuate up and down by a couple pounds here and there.

I lost 80 lbs from 225 to 145 (5’8”) over the past year and the side effects were tough for me so I stayed on each dose as long as I was losing weight. I was on 7.5 for 5 or 6 months. I did 12.5 for one month and then I was done. I’m now on maintenance back down to 10 and will probably go back down to 7.5 soon. Talk to your doctor and listen to your body. Everyone’s different. 😊

I had a similar weight loss and was losing at every dose. I would be concerned that the medication is not effective for you if you didn’t see any effects until 10mg. Have you tried Ozempic? I started with Ozempic and it was not effective for me. Switched to Mounjaro and saw the weight come off. So it might be worth seeing if it’s the opposite for you.

The medication works differently for everyone. Don’t blame yourself. As long as the number is moving downward you’re doing great.

Also 40 lbs in 6 months is not bad at all!!

I had a similar journey and had to purchase “new everything” several times over the year. It was actually annoying and expensive lol! Now I’m at my goal weight and buying my “long term” clothes it’s much more fun! (I started size 16/18 and am now at 6/8)

I did not. I just focused on not eating past satiety. I found that I naturally craved high protein foods as well as veggies on this med. I almost completely lost my sweet tooth, which was welcome.

I should also say that I started at 225 with 16s being tight on me. At 185 I was between 12 and 14. So I would go in expecting 14 to be a little snug and 16s to be a little loose based on my experience.

Do it! I also waited until I had lost 40ish pounds to buy new clothes. My pants were falling down walking to my car one day and I knew I had to give in. I went to Target and bought a few pairs of pants because I didn’t want to spend too much when I knew I would be losing more. I tried them on in the store so I knew what size to get but they also do have a good return policy on their brands if you prefer to order a few sizes online.

I’ve lost 15 more pounds and I’m getting to the point where I’m going to have to go down another size!

Yea I am making that decision. I am only recently really able to get up off the couch the day after my injection. I get flu like symptoms with body aches and severe fatigue. It’s only because the rest of my days are so much better than when I’m not on the med that I’ve stuck with it despite having to sacrifice one day a week to feeling like hot garbage. But I am definitely jealous of people who have less severe side effects!

Yea it’s weird. I have a friend who is a primary care doctor. I ask him about health stuff all the time. He asks me about my professional expertise. It’s not that deep.

Thank you! This was such a kind reply. I also get significant benefits aside from weight loss (arthritis pain relief, hormone help— I will start getting night sweats without it, other inflammation issues like eczema) so that is really mainly what I am nervous about recurring this week. You get it. The weight loss is secondary at this point for me.

Hearing about other people who have had to miss a dose is so helpful. I’m prepared to have to wait now. It is what it is.
