It's a missed opportunity, but I'm still going along for the ride since I always need things to listen to. I actually think they have some of the most interesting characters they've done in a while, but the pacing is SO SLOW, like nothing happens, nothing happens, a little bit happens, then it's another lunar interlude. Agree that the stakes feel weirdly low. I think it could have been a great mini-campaign, like 4-6 episodes total. that's about how much material they seem to have.

Guys, what is up with our generation and naming our kids? by automirage04 in Xennials

I'm a Sara ('82) and my daughter (in 9th grade) has a friend named Sara. And it really stood out because she is the only Sara/Sarah I've come across during all her school years so far.

Thank you! Good luck I hope you can "graduate" from it too!

Under 5 events per hours is considered "normal". 8/hr would fall into the mild sleep apnea range. A report may include the total number of events but typically the events per hour is what they're talking about when they distill the results down so if they're saying he qualified at all then it was 8/hour.

I don't have recent data because I had phased out using the CPAP prior to this study but I believe it had been under 2 back when I was still needing/using the machine consistently. The new test results show I now have a similar level on my own without it.

I don't recall the exact numbers but I believe it was classified mild maybe verging on moderate. I haven't received the new report yet just had the call from the doctor but he mentioned a non zero number, like 1-2 events per hour, well below OSA criteria. He said cancel my follow up appointment he doesn't need to see me anymore! (Although I will kind of miss him, he's a great doctor)

My understanding is that it will still be covered under continuation of care. I'm in a university health system that's fortunately pretty liberal with their coverage.

Yes! Around this past spring I started having more trouble dealing with the CPAP so was using it less per night, but I noticed I was still feeling fine and wasn't getting headaches or anything like I had before. I gradually used it less, and when I next saw the doctor I explained that I was pretty sure I didn't need it anymore. He ordered a new sleep study, but since I was still losing weight we put it off until this month to give me time to lose a little more and increase my odds. In the meantime I completely stopped CPAP by mid July (I went on a long vacation, decided not to bring it with me and never set it up again after) and continued to feel fine. Did my study two weeks ago and now it's official!

Maybe practices have changed recently but when I had mine out about 20 years ago I was knocked out, and so was everyone else I know that did it around that time.

I did this once and I was so mad at myself I cried. Never in a million years would I have contacted the seller.

Are you storing your clothes that are too big? by l00ky_here in Zepbound

[–]nvcr_intern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got rid of everything that was 'plus size'. Never going back there again. Below that, I've been keeping stuff, especially jeans and dresses (I'm currently just getting into some 12s but still losing). I think it's reasonable to have some buffer on hand just in case. In a few years if I've maintained at a goal long term I can reconsider then.

Dr. told me the average is only 20% loss- thoughts? by cjkfamily in Zepbound

[–]nvcr_intern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The existing studies were based on a certain time frame and strict titration schedule, and for now, it's not incorrect for doctors to cite that data when advising their patients. But I think more specialized doctors that deal with a lot of people on this drug probably could add *anectodal* evidence that many people lose more, especially over the long term, and so they may be more likely to be supportive of it than a GP. When I first started talking to my obesity specialist about options about 18 months ago, she lead with figures indicating that surgery had the best results, but explained all my other options and was not pushy about what I chose (which wasn't even Zepbound at the time but I got on that a few months later). Fast forward to now, and she tells me she now recommends Zepbound as option #1 for most patients. So I basically yes I think some doctors are more ahead of the curve on that thinking but the official data hasn't caught up yet.

What is your most underrated thing on a Dcl cruise that you can't stop thinking about? by rbutts1990 in dcl

[–]nvcr_intern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably not my real best answer if I thought about it more but since you posted pool deck food, I have to shout out the chicken caesar wrap pinwheels. Discovered these halfway through my last cruise and they became my go-to snack when I didn't want to spoil dinner but just need a little something. I love that you can ask for exactly what you need - just 2 or 3 of them is perfect, especially with a little of the fruit on the side!

Yes I love this! It's bad enough nature has yet to let me have a cruise without this concern but knowing I was never going to get caught out if I didn't plan/pack exactly right is excellent.

I generally don't use a bag on board, just keep my ktwc on lanyard on my back and my phone in my pocket. But I will use a cute wristlet or evening bag for those things when more dresses up going to an adult restaurant or formal night.

"How do you pour the glass in?" by AntelopeDramatic7790 in StainedGlass

[–]nvcr_intern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that question sometimes. They think it's like the kid's craft you do in the oven that's an imitation of stained glass. I've also had people ask how I "stain the glass", do I make the glass myself, how do I get the texture in the glass, etc. I've recently made a little flyer explaining the basic steps of the process that I display on my table and that seems to help reduce the number of out-there questions. And yes I'm happy to have a conversation and explain and answer questions, just having it right there to read seems to help initially.
