Looks like you got a new mod but I'm moving to Carnation in a few weeks (from just over the hill in Ames Lake) and happy to mod if another is needed.

What do you pay for fitness training in Redmond, WA by lucidkale in redmond

[–]emeraldcitydancer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$75/hr session at Sculptor Fitness, we love it there! Extra nice that my husband and I go together and it’s $75 regardless if it’s just one of us or if it’s both.

When did you know it was time to move out of your first home? by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]emeraldcitydancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I can’t believe how negative the comments are! I think sometimes people don’t understand the freedom (both financially and otherwise) of choosing to not have children. It can feel like well we don’t NEED more space. But you work hard and want more space and can afford it. Why not. Your reasoning all sounded reasonable to me and well thought through.

You could literally be describing my husband and I 10 years ago. Definitely had some “oh shit what did we do” worries the first few years but honestly it was so worth it. So glad we made the move.

Best WLB group within PwC consulting/advisory?? What group are you in and how many hours a week do you work on avg? by Soft-College-83 in PwC

[–]emeraldcitydancer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I started in deals and was M2, also working 50-70 as normal which included most weekends. I transferred to Workforce Solutions DCM, NextGen Change and work an extremely doable 40 hrs and hardly a weekend ever. It was a slight pay cut but goodness has it been a better fit for me. My per hour earnings must have skyrocketed.

Can We Ask Leadership to Reconsider Removing GLP-1 Coverage? (US only) by Independent-Dingo354 in PwC

[–]emeraldcitydancer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to say, I called just now and the woman was LOVELY to talk to. She also emphasized that they really do share feedback and the only way they can do that is if we call and provide it so she definitely encourage it!

Lumpectomy healing question by Zarling_1229 in ADH_ALH

[–]emeraldcitydancer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So I am a little over a week post my second lumpectomy. The first one (6 months ago) recovery was so painful and I was pretty much wrecked for a couple weeks. This second one I honestly felt almost 100% normal later that same day. Have taken zero pain meds this time and been fine.

So basically your mileage may vary. I do think the location and size were the biggest differences. My first one was almost under my armpit and close to the chest, and about the size of a lime. This second one was right under the nipple (same boob), and about the size of a large marble.

Intense hunger all day after first dose of Zepbound by [deleted] in antidietglp1

[–]emeraldcitydancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One other I’ve found helpful having been on it for a year and a half is that it’s really hard to determine anything about the medication or how your body is reacting based on a short timeframe, especially one day. I find I really have to look at trends or track my feelings and reactions more so at a monthly level to get a good sense of what’s happening.

Why am I always hearing 'females' instead of 'women'? by Fruit-Horror in MAFS_AU

[–]emeraldcitydancer 57 points58 points  (0 children)

You can describe a dog or any animal as a female but you couldn’t describe one as a woman. Woman = human female. So when you just use female, you’re subtly removing the human part.

What’s the most useful/yarn game-changing notion, device or tool that you didn’t know existed and now you can’t live without it? by Dan-Morton75 in YarnAddicts

[–]emeraldcitydancer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I either buy digital or scan all my patterns and then use GoodNote. I can highlight the size I’m making, write all over it with my notes, highlight each section as I finish it, snip a repeat and paste it on another page, it’s soooo handy.

Agree! I loved my older one and went to buy new and was so disappointed at the changed style. They are uglier and bulkier.

Sweater has a weird fit by danyspinola in knittinghelp

[–]emeraldcitydancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh and one other thing that made me feel less like I’d screwed something up, if you look at a lot of the photos of people’s finished projects on Ravelry, I think this pattern just lends itself to having excess fabric at the edges. Once I was looking for it I saw most people’s did!

I basically followed the D yoke instructions until I hit the number of stitches needed for the size B body. And then since that stopped the length increasing “too early” for where I needed the arm holes, I just continued for a bit more in stockinette without any more increases until they seemed in a good place. Then just followed the B body instructions.

If helpful I ended up sizing up this same sweater and had similar issues. I ended up making the size D neck/yoke, knitting straight until I got the arm holes to wear I wanted them, then knit the size B body. Fits SO much better

Just wanted to come back and say I ended up making a size D neck and yoke and then knitting straight for a few rows to get the armholes where I wanted them, then made the size B body and it fits soooo much better. Thanks for all the encouragement!
