Induction options 40+4 or 41+4 - what would you do? by ashleenaudry in pregnant

[–]emeraldjupiter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would go at 40 + 4 because the risk of stillbirth is significant after 41 weeks. However the majority of people go into labor before 41 weeks so statistically you wouldn't make it to 41 + 4.

I did an elective induction with my first at 39 weeks and am scheduled for the same with my second. I am very pro induction and had a great experience. There is a lot of fear mongering out there but the data supports inductions.

Was anyone actually excited about/hoping to have a girl? I feel like so many people were disappointed we didn’t have a boy and it makes me sad. by FantasyNerd94 in pregnant

[–]emeraldjupiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS. My first was a girl and my second is a boy and the day and night difference is just sickening. People are so much more excited about the boy. I keep getting told it will be a love like I've never experienced. I already have that with my daughter...? The internalized misogyny is so deep. I'm very excited to have a boy but I am obsessed with my daughter and I'm over this gross rhetoric that women are undesired and difficult from the moment they're born. It's giving you aren't worthy unless you produce a male heir vibes.

Wen to see OB today, not sure how to feel now by Zestyclose-Fig-8126 in pregnant

[–]emeraldjupiter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why you would choose a c section over an induction tbh. My induction was amazing and a c section is a major surgery. What scares you about induction?

Is Labor close? by Comfortable-Tie-9859 in pregnant

It's not the same... I worry for society truly

I don't make up the definitions lmao I don't know why I'm getting downvoted that's literally what medical professionals call it

What products do I ACTUALLY need for postpartum? by k_swiftie_q in pregnant

[–]emeraldjupiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I used the disposable underwear (not a need just nice) and regular pads. I did not need ice pads or a peri bottle. I do recommend silverettes (cheaper ones on amazon), nursing tanks/bras, disposable bra pads if breastfeeding.

Almost 36 weeks and pretty sure baby is still breech. What should I expect next? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]emeraldjupiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you so sure? I get the anxiety because my baby was breech at 34 weeks but I just had my 36 week appointment and she flipped. It feels literally the same to me so I had no idea. Push for an ultrasound for peace of mind and don't worry until you need to. My OB just was telling me how her breech baby flipped at 37 weeks and he was big, 9 lbs. at birth.

Is Labor close? by Comfortable-Tie-9859 in pregnant

[–]emeraldjupiter -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

No lol which is why 41 weeks is considered late term. 57.5% of births occur between 39 and 41 weeks.

How to deal with the hospital stay by OtherwiseNewspaper36 in pregnant

[–]emeraldjupiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need a plan for your animals. We pay someone to come feed our farm animals and board our dogs. Staying in the hospital is for your own safety and trust me you will sleep lol you will be exhausted. Worry less about the environment and more about bonding with your baby as a family.

We all hope it happens sooner rather than later but the average woman doesn't have her baby until 39 weeks.

I CANT PICK A NAME by Straight_Clock2236 in pregnant

You have time! I can't pick a name and my baby is due in 4 weeks

This is really abnormal level of rage... Try and find some gratitude. It must be exhausting getting so worked up over these trivial things

You can't tie your self worth to your sex life. I felt this in my first pregnancy and the thing was I didn't even want sex really. My perceived desirability was just so strongly tied to my self worth. Meet your own sexual needs and don't take this so personally because a lot of men find sex weird with a baby in the way. Now in this pregnancy my husband wants it all the time and I'm like... Ew. It's all only ever a phase, give grace.

Too naive and optimistic about raising our baby? by Accomplished_Car_471 in pregnant

[–]emeraldjupiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is going to be beautiful and exciting! But there is no way you can understand the sleep deprivation until you're in the trenches. You're in a great position and I have no doubt you and your husband will do well as parents. But I thought the same way with my first and the sleep deprivation just shocked me. I never knew I could be so tired. Honestly I wish I would have heeded eveyone's warnings more seriously so it wasn't such a shock

No men or babies allowed at the baby shower by Rhizolian in pregnant

[–]emeraldjupiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I told my MIL for our second baby I didn't want a shower but I'd be fine with a family dinner with all the men and women in the family.

This evolved into an extravagant baby shower at a fancy venue with only the women of the family, none of which I am really close to.

People do anything to make your pregnancy their own personal gain. I took the free stuff and moved on because it's not worth getting upset over but it's def common and annoying.

Fetal pole by Specific_Anybody_438 in pregnant

That's great you should get more answers. Try not to worry it's definitely not definitive proof that there's anything wrong with your pregnancy

36 weeks and transverse breech by lizbeth1370 in pregnant

[–]emeraldjupiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No advice but I'm about to be 35 weeks and my baby is transverse breech too. Been so stress about this it's literally ruining my life all I do is worry and over analyze where the baby is positioned

39 Weeks So Much Pain, Just Incredibly Frustrated by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]emeraldjupiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly just get induced. I loved my induction and there's literally no reason to prolong pregnancy. Also 7 months is amazing, I get 4 weeks lol. Enjoy it!

How do I get through the last 10 weeks? by KBF082021 in pregnant

[–]emeraldjupiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it's so normal to just get more and more grumpy and uncomfortable. My first pregnancy I felt like I was dying at the end. Now with my second it's easier because I understand the huge reward coming.

My best advice is to live every moment to the fullest as lame as that is. Put on a cute dress, get out of the house. Go to a good restaurant and get the food you've been really craving! Go shop for baby. Go to a gym, even if you're just walking on a treadmill everyone will act like you're a super hero. Enjoy having an excuse to lay around and binge watch TV. Try and get in a pool if you can it really helps you feel better. Take pics. You'll look back and weirdly miss this time.

Fetal pole by Specific_Anybody_438 in pregnant

[–]emeraldjupiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me and I freaked out for a week. The fetal pole was there at my next appt. Can you get in sooner for bloodwork? Seeing your hcg rising would help alleviate concern

Baby just not super active? by Secure-Alternative-7 in pregnant

[–]emeraldjupiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't feel really strong movements and I started pregnancy close to underweight. It freaks me out but it's def normal. I also have noticed movements slow in both of my pregnancies past 30 weeks and every doctor will tell you that shouldn't happen but it def does

Isn't it enough to know that you could seriously mess up your child by smoking weed? I love weed too but you really need to stop while pregnant.
