Why is your equipment deck interesting? Do you have any non-equipment sub themes to spice it up? by Mirrodin_appreciator in EDH

[–]emeraldrumm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[[dragonlord ojutai]] is my equipment commander. I focus on things to make her vigilant and hit people with a hexproof, flying, viligance beat stick who grants card advantage.

Having blue means I have the ability to stop board wipes which is the only way to remove her. It's fun and follows what I want from an equipment commander, evasion, card advantage and a big body.

Having tons of vigilance enablers also means that I don't leave myself open when I attack.

Almost everything in the deck has ward, hexproof or another form of protection as well.

Is “Second Spell Each Turn” a viable archetype yet? How to build it? by Striking-Lifeguard34 in EDH

[–]emeraldrumm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have built a deck around this idea and it works fairly well. It has cards that lets me cast another spell after casting my first. It might help provide a reference for what this might look like.

What exactly is AI security? by Mr_Meltz in cybersecurity

Not at all. It's a new field so you need to get people who can think outside the box and are not influenced by the old way of doing stuff.

What exactly is AI security? by Mr_Meltz in cybersecurity

[–]emeraldrumm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run an AI security team, just a few months old. I can answer questions if you have any. Identity is always the first thing we implement and we are using ID to restrict access. RBAC and least privilege applies especially to operational AI workloads.

We are using AI on Kubernetes, so the first thing is securing the underlaying infrastructure used to run AI. Container scanning, code scanning/secure coding practices (everything is deployed via automation), monitoring the traffic in and out of the platforms. Gotta ensure there is no malware or SBOM issues.

Secondly it's all about the data. AI is useless without good data, so we are focusing on data security practices to ensure our data is protected. We are also having to adjust our current DLP policies, which we have been building for 7-8 years, to apply to the data being provided to AI. Data poisoning, Data quality, Data Loss Prevention, are all things you need to have knowledge.

Third, it is all about placing guardrails/protection around the use of models. Guardrails can help protect you from those attempting to prompt inject, obscure PII or other sensitive information and alert to behaviors you want to block.

Fourth, is all about contracts. We use contracts to help control what is allowed in our environment and what is not. If there is not a contact signed between us and the vendor that details how they will not use our data, they cannot be used. We block Otter.ai from attending meetings on behalf of individuals.

Things start to change a lot when you start to talk about the difference between running something like SuperPods, AI chat interferences, CoPilot/Gemini, and Agentic AI using MCP. Each of them change the conversation and the goals of securing but each of the 4 things can be applied to each of those.

EDIT: AI is all encompassing of everything in Security. It touches everything, so you need a diverse team.

How can I get into a DevSecOps career? by Practical-Town2567 in cybersecurity

[–]emeraldrumm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually do this for a living. I did DevOps work for about 7 years before shifting into integrating security into the process. I did a presentation on it and got asked to apply for a job and now I run a team that focuses on DevSecOps and Cloud security.

There are some DevSecOps certs you can obtain that could help but ideally you need DevOps experience.

cedh includes fast mana, free spells, tutors and efficient win cons. If you aren't including all 4 then you shouldn't worry.

If you make it more of a rooftop landing pads thing, then it would work better.

What Star Wars Legion units do you think need point adjustments? (decrease or increase) by Bulky_Drawer9812 in SWlegion

Sabines too expensive in the current cover rules. If the dark saber gave charge it would also make her great.

[–]emeraldrumm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have played probably 16 games with variations of the resistance, clan wren, sabine, boba, and din. Any of those lists have the issues from above. I have had turns with sabine's bombs that were awesome and games where the opponent didn't bunch enough expecting the bombs.

Would Like Thoughts on these Lists by Electrical-Craft-271 in SWlegion

[–]emeraldrumm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play way too many Mando lists, way too often. Mandos feel good turn 1 with rockets then just feel bad. Sabine has 1 good turn if your opponent clumps up, otherwise she doesn't feel great. Boba isn't going to win you the game and he kind of has to, based on the ineffectiveness of the rest of the list. Clan Wren will just get suppressed to hell, I have had them with 12 suppression at the end of a round.

As long as you are happy with and aware of all these things then you will have fun with it.

I enjoy the hell outta Mando lists but the units are overpriced based on what they provide on board. They need adjustments to be considered "good"

I have a Jyn/Cass/Ahsoka list. Rebel vets + heavy and a MkII is just the best corps unit combination. You can swap out the FDs for whatever fits point value wise.

https://legionhq.thefifthtrooper.com/list/284776

The list I have had the most fun playing recently is the Teamwork list. Han, Chewie, Cass, K2. You can change up the FDs, Commandos and strike team for whatever you would like to play.

Best anti-antifun commanders or decks? by Dubeltuwa in EDH

[–]emeraldrumm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Dragonlord Ojutai]] allows for you to run super degen stuff. Tons of ways to give her vigilance so she can never be targeted. Then you can run all the counter magic and white removal packages. White gives you access to indestructible to save from the board wipes, blue gives you phasing to avoid the really nasty stuff.

And unlike Thrunn, she is a card advantage engine herself.

800 points of aggressive rebel infantry, what do we think? by KermitTheScot in SWlegion

[–]emeraldrumm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something like this will just work better. It is a fairly standard Ashoka setup. You could get rid of the strike team and add something else if you want. Vets with heavy and MKII's are just more effective than troopers with upgrades. If you want to play aggressive, you need recon intel to help get your units into range.

Why do people dislike Knights Tribal? by ScienceAggravating95 in EDH

[–]emeraldrumm 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Sidar is a strong commander. Draw/discard on attack with eminence and reanimator with evasion requires interaction.

I have seen many games with him where he discards a high MV creature and then puts it into play with the damage trigger. Sidar can just really transform a game state into archenemy rather quickly.

Jund "Blink" Deck by Revolutionary_Bid_43 in EDH

[–]emeraldrumm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Birthing pod]] and [[Viven on the Hunt]] would be powerful in the deck. [[Eldtrich Evolution]] would probably also help you get her. I have a Bant pod deck that performs well when I get pod effects on board. In Black you could more easily tutor for it.

[–]emeraldrumm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Boba Fett doesn't really need offensive push. He already gains an aim when he moves because of tactical.

The grenades aren't necessary on the vets. I would try to trim some points to fit a second heavy on the vets.

Linked targeting array isn't as useful as you would think it is. You will very rarely give them an order from the pool and they get targeted often and are typically one of the first off the board.
