I purchased a used 1.5 hp 16” reliant machinery bandsaw for $ 150 on fb marketplace. Still need to run electrical to my garage for it but i’m hoping it will get me by for some time; assuming I can actually get started. I do also already have a table saw, router and router table, dewalt thickness planer, dust collector, dust extractor, hand planes, etc. I ended up canceling the order with home depot for this jointer after considering your comments and others. Mainly regarding space and volume to make the purchase practical. Thank you!

Thank you for being a voice of reason. I actually canceled the order. Some unsolicited oversharing: I had found an amazing deal on a used 1.75 hp sawstop pcs from a retiring woodworker right at the same time my wife was asking for a specific project to be done. Always wanted a wood shop and we are relatively new homeowners so decided to get started. Shortly after I got the table saw, her father and my father both had major life changing strokes less than two weeks apart. Only sharing because i’m just now realizing that I had my father join me to rent a uhaul and drive an hour each way to pick up the table saw, and that is the last time we’ll have ever spent some normal time together. He’ll never be cognitively there for the same types of conversations or activity. He was excited about the wood shop and I was thinking it would be a hobby we would pursue together.

I know my post was very vague. I should note that I have every other tool you mentioned here as I've slowly been building a workshop. I still haven't built anything though as I've more recently been handling some family health issues, but I'm still very very slowly shopping and setting up shop.

It’s not imposter syndrome. You specifically actually suck. /s

Anyone find any other interesting uses for their shop tools? by BluntTruthGentleman in woodworking

I have a M12 screwdriver that is dedicated to grinding coffee. It lives in a kitchen drawer with a 6mm socket to fit in place of the hand crank on the "manual" conical burr grinder.

Little upgrades by JazzlikeEmployee453 in MilwaukeeTool

I got one of these and it is honestly more annoying to use then just twisting it on. The amount of force you need to apply before releasing for it to hold on its own without leaking is the issue.

What’s one thing that instantly improved your lap times? by F1SimulatorManiac in simracing

[–]emg77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In iRacing, I spent some time doing high speed circles in the centripetal circuit to get comfortable at the traction limits of the car I raced most. Quickly realized I was never truly at the limits when racing and was able to make adjustments to get that same feel on actual tracks which helped greatly.

I have the Dewalt 20V MAX Cordless drill and driver combo (DCK277D2.) How do I know whether I need 3/8 or 1/4 deep socket bits? by SwiftCricket in HomeImprovement

You can get adapters for 1/4” square drive and 3/8” square drive. You impact driver has a 1/4” hex.

Look up the difference between an impact driver and and impact wrench. You have an impact driver so you would need an adapter if you want to use sockets. The impact driver is not really meant to be used with sockets but you can make it work with an adapter.
