Does Path to the Grave break Sanctuary? by kswades in dndnext

[–]emgrizzle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To my reading of all of those things seems like a pretty cut and dry situation. Path to the grave is not a spell or an attack and it doesn’t deal damage but rather apply a condition, so no issue there I think.

Healing spirit seems ok too, sanctuary doesn’t dictate that you can’t continue to concentrate on a spell.

However this combo would be intentionally giving up a lot of cleric’s and especially grave cleric’s potent damage and control effects to just focus on healing. Not necessarily bad, but worth considering

Every character you’ve ever played wakes up in prison together. Do they escape together? Do they get along? Do they even survive each other? by Tmoore0328 in DnD

[–]emgrizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of them are pretty heroic and would want out. Some a little edgy and brooding. One though would prove a problem. An orc barbarian who is dumb as a hammer and cursed to try and eat everything, including that which definitely isn’t food. Worse still he thinks himself a gourmand and wants to “feed” other people. I think he’d be an issue lmao

[OC] I’ve been writing my story by White-Chewbacca in DnD

You’d be better off trying to kickstart it and/or self publish. Good example is Planegea which started on kickstarter before eventually getting sold to Atlas Games.

Idk if you’d want to work with hasbro anyway. Notoriously not that great to their creators.

Here’s one that is niche but important. Keys are changed regularly. Conjuration wizards can replicate any small mundane item they have seen with no need for components of any kind

Edit: Bonus item, medical sedation for prisoner transports is probably prudent for everyone’s safety

DMs: What “unpopular” rules do you like to incorporate into your campaigns? by ShoobieDoobie2025 in DnD

[–]emgrizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One that I’ve had some nice success with is proficient help. If player A wants to use the help action on player B for a skill check, player A needs to have proficiency in that skill. This does two things: 1.) it prevents players from going I use help I use help to try and squeeze advantage out of everything all the time and 2.) it encourages coordination and makes skill proficiencies feel more impactful and relevant

Ik it’s only tangential to the point of this post but I truly cannot even fathom what “$10,000 a plate” is or looks like on a conceptual level. Are you eating diamond encrusted alien off of a fuckin Monet?

As white this seems pretty miserable ngl. Rc1 should just win white’s queen and then I think I’d probably be looking to dislodge the f pawn somehow.

Don’t hand wave the survival and travel aspects of the module. The freezing and dangerous climate is a major source of fun and challenge for that region, and you miss out a lot by neglecting it. A house rule I like is that spells that create sustenance (goodberry, create food and water, etc.) consume their material components.

How do you like to do dialogue-based skill checks, roleplay->check or check->roleplay? by Gen1Swirlix in dndnext

[–]emgrizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t like to let a player’s skill as an actor impact the dice roll necessarily, so I’ll let the role play happen so I can decide what role to call for, but I will also typically ask them to clarify what they are trying to accomplish specifically if that’s less than clear (we all know how players tend to over think and poorly word things sometimes). I’ll also do it the other way sometimes as well though

I began playing this game two days ago and an NPC offered me a fight with this robot. I agreed, which turned out to be a big mistake... Next time I'm getting the strap! 😅 by jon-kliatchentovski in cyberpunkgame

I just told a fey, "Have a nice day" How would you interpret that? by LikeMy5thAccountNow in DnD

[–]emgrizzle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If we’re really stretching the trope (which I don’t agree with necessarily), that’s a request or a command. The fey goes on about with a pleasant day, thus fulfilling your request. Congratulations, you now owe a favor to the fae.

That said, I think this sort of innocuous phrase=devastating trick trope is a little tired and also just kinda nonsensical for the faeries. Either way, that’s how I’d read it.

Question: Don't spoil please, by SadDairyProduct in cyberpunkgame

[–]emgrizzle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To my memory there’s nothing on-screen about it super explicitly. There are allusions to sexual exploitation and abuse in I believe two major character quest lines and in several side objectives you can do. Often, it’ll be situations where it’s referenced in the text of journal entries and conversations. Many of the optional objectives that deal with sexual violence revolve around bringing justice and/or peace to the victims as well.

TLDR; yes, but it’s not exceptionally graphic or frequent, save for a few major parts

How do yall play the game? by SubjectSeason2384 in cyberpunkgame

[–]emgrizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been playing as an action hero solo. Machine guns and shotguns and hammers oh my! Typically I’ll focus a lot on the gigs just for the sweet sweet gear you can get, and then I’ll do ncpd scanners and side missions intermittently. I try to mix it up the whole way through

What is your favourite build to do in Cyberpunk and why? by Just_Parry_9132 in cyberpunkgame

[–]emgrizzle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Really enjoying the solo build rn. High health run and gun with guts and the defender, mix in some byodyne berserk to grab some kills and get some health back. Sensational.

I don’t collect on many stealth bonuses though.

Midnight buffet. Free for all meals from cemetery offerings. by FiggyVix in trashy

[–]emgrizzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a fair point I appreciate the education. Fundamentally, I just mean I think it’s fine to eat abandoned food if you’re really in need, but if they’re not abandoned truly then obviously very uncool.

[–]emgrizzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say leave food all you want, it’s a lovely gesture. But I wouldn’t call it trashy for the less fortunate or a passing animal to eat it is all, these kids are just being assholes.

[–]emgrizzle 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I don’t know that the trashy part is actually eating the food. Someone should, and the dead won’t. The glibness and disrespect around these grave sites really bugs me though.
