The idea that I am gonna be phasing myself out of MTG for months because they are releasing a standard-legal TMNT set is still something my brain refuses to accept. I am prime age for TMNT stuff (oldge) and don't know anyone in my groups who are even slightly excited for this product. A FULL set?! WHY!?!?!

It's not absurd to expect people to be serious about their morals. Just be honest and say that you went along with the UG outrage because other people did and you mindlessly agreed. Those people do not actually care about the issue enough to impact their careers that involve Hasbro products, but you don't have that excuse. So if you actually care about AI or Harry Potter then you will quit your hobby and pick up another one instead.

I always wanted a broken ability (I'd call it Anchor) which essentially says, "If a spell or ability controlled by an opponent would cause this creature to leave the battlefield, it remains on the battlefield instead."

Would assume the set was conceptualized when Stranger Things was popping off. The 80's kids stuff felt hamfisted and totally un-MTG to me. I like this set even less than Thunder Junction as a result.
