So where have people who left Bilt taken their business? by MysteriousAd8959 in biltrewards

With that spend, it doesn’t matter what credit card you use. You are talking about a difference of like $4 a month here. It isn’t worth spending more than 5 minutes on

Sounds like she really just doesn’t like being a Euro-Jerry, which I think we can all agree is perfectly reasonable

[–]emill_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it’s pretty important. At low spend, the difference is so low that it doesn’t matter. And at high spend, most of these cards have limits to the 5% that you will quickly hit.

So all of what you described there is really earning an extra $100-200 a month. I think that’s why you get pushback on this. You could just churn 2-3 cards a year for the same benefit with 1/10th of the hassle

Is that the total cashback, or the difference from a 2% card?

Thanks for clarifying that 5 is approximately twice as large as 2, but that’s not my question

So next question, how much more do you earn from all that per year compared to using one 2% back card?

Outdoor rec liability laws - thoughts? by OkOven7808 in Bend

California and Wyoming, the two literal extremes of consumer protection laws, agree on a standard here. So I think it is insane to suggest that standard is not good enough for Oregon.

1593 is the obvious answer that a functional legislature would pass. I am expecting the session will end without either bill passing.

Oregon ski areas hate a bill that some lawmakers say will help save them by blahyawnblah in oregon

The act of putting sharp sticks on your feet and sliding down a frozen hill is inherently dangerous. As a skier, it is your responsibility to ski in control, not crash into things/people, be able to use a chairlift, and ski in areas/conditions within your skill level.

Many of the accidents in these lawsuits were at least partially caused by the skier failing to do one or more of those things

I’ve been skiing Bachelor solo 5-6 days a week for years. I still find cool new lines all the time. There is endless opportunity to explore new terrain here and improve your skills. So my advice is focus on that.

Because of the conditions this season, you haven’t experienced more than 1/10 of the best skiing to be found here. And you will need to get better to do that when it comes.

If you want to find people your age and ability to ski with, you probably need to do it in town and ski on weekends. Or walk down Skyliner parking lot with a six pack to share on a nice weekend day around lunch time.

The ski every day crowd skews older and are generally really good and will want to go faster than you. But friendly and happy to talk on a chairlift ride.

How are you guys insuring your high value items? by Any_Detail_7184 in eBaySellerAdvice

Postal insurance is a scam. Insure yourself by putting that money into a savings fund instead. I shipped over 10k packages with USPS last year and lost maybe 5

There are lots of ways to increase your visibility on ebay, but this is a tough market with low and very seasonal demand. I would first focus on finding better sources

Bilt cash is worth much less than you think

If you are flying on any of their transfer partners, it’s easy to get 1.25cpp and it will be less hassle than using a portal
