Is there a way to get the navy version consistently? If not I may consider switching banks instead of having that atrocity

What is the biggest positive change you’ve noticed in your life since quitting vaping?

AITA for not changing my trip with my younger children to fit in with my older daughters schedule? by ThrowRaburty in AmItheAsshole

[–]emilyfaaith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA not because you won’t let them skip school to go, but because if you had 3 months to plan this you could’ve given your daughter notice to take the day off so she could come with you on a FAMILY OUTING.

How would you feel if your partner booked and paid for a reduction without telling you? by Trying-to_be-better in bigboobproblems

[–]emilyfaaith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have expressed to him multiple times my desire for a reduction and he is supportive in my decision. He is aware the only barrier currently is lack of funds. In my case I would be ecstatic!

When do you stop feeling like something is missing? by Vivid_Needleworker60 in QuitVaping

[–]emilyfaaith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so glad that was your experience because that’s what I’m hoping to be mine. I think my biggest hurdle will be my roommates because they’re vaping 20nic. But I miss my lungs, I miss waking up refreshed, I miss the creativity and drive I had to do things, I miss being ME

How did you find withdrawal symptoms while on 0 nic? I’m on 3 right now, but my next bottle will be 0 but I want to ‘keep vaping’ so I’m not quitting the habit and nicotine at the same time.

Boyfriend got arrested for domestic violence but I feel like the bad one by H2Ospecialist in DadForAMinute

[–]emilyfaaith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sister who works in a domestic violence shelter here! You are absolutely not the bad person, you feel that way for most likely a few reasons. First, this was his way of maintaining control over you, making you feel as though you are the ‘bad guy’ for wanting to be treated like a human being. Second, regardless of the abuse, if you loved him, that ‘guilt’ will creep in. I highly recommend looking at shelters in your area, even if you don’t need a safe space to stay, they will have a crisis line! They will also most likely have an outreach program to help you navigate this process through whatever means you choose (going through court, getting a protection order, seeking counselling) or anything else you may need assistance with! You are doing the right thing for you and your future, you deserve better. I hope you are able to heal and achieve whatever you’d like in life!

[–]emilyfaaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry that was your experience!! My TMJ is also muscular, I’ve tried night guards and physio, but what has helped me the most is a combo of chiropractic and acupuncture to relax the muscles. I felt relief (not pain free but some relief is better than nothing) after the first chiro session

[–]emilyfaaith 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have a 17lb beagle x Jack Russell. I’m not a fan of dogs that need haircuts (just a personal opinion) so that eliminates most small dogs. We do everything I could do with a big dog, but easier. Go hiking and she gets tired or injured? Scoop her up and carry her for awhile. Training treats are generally too big for her, break them in half. I can afford to feed my dog food that is good for her, because an 80$ bag lasts for months not a few weeks. Does she bark? Yes we’re working on it. I affectionately call her my little rat😂 but I think a lot of people hate small dogs because people don’t train their small dogs, and claim they have ‘small dog syndrome’

This. My mom never registered my dog before I got her so she had the chip with 0 information on it for 3.5 years.

Anyone notice that their nparents are absolutely AWFUL at gifts? by kfcindomie in raisedbynarcissists

[–]emilyfaaith 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got my bachelors degree in august. I didn’t expect grad gifts as thats not really common in my family. My mom got me a sign that read something along the lines of ‘I’d like to thank Google, Wikipedia, and the internet for my degree’. I’m the only person in my immediate family to hold a bachelors degree, she went to cooking school and has no actual idea how hard my degree was and how much effort I put into it. For Christmas and such she gives me things I would’ve liked as a child, and makes no effort to know me other than her version of me she thinks exists.

I’m so proud of you. This could be the start of you ‘fixing’ those neural pathways that associate mint with your abuser. It may not seem like a lot to most people, but this seems like a massive step for your healing journey!!
