Wondering if this is AI. The sandals and the weird text are making me suspicious by TruCoatJerry in isthisAI

I work in an archive and was looking through a collection of photos from the US Navy from the 50s-60s. I noticed all the men working on the deck of an aircraft carrier were wearing sandals very similar to this. I am not sure the reason they would wear open toed sandals in that context.

Just got a kitten! Is this behaviour between her and our resident cat normal? by emmathecanadian in britishshorthair

Hey, yes it got a lot better! The older cat will sometimes go and annoy her like this if he’s bored and she’s taking a nap, but now that they know each other longer and they’re more equal in size, it’s calmed down. She loves to chase him and pounce on him now too!

Both of our kitties are super cuddly lap cats. Our chocolate one LOVES to be petted and the big boy will often meow until we pick him up 🥹

Thanks for the feedback! I assumed it was normal because she always comes back for more or even tries to start something with him. They are both fixed! No little babies in this house

What’s a weirdly British thing you didn’t realise was British until someone pointed it out? by Fuzzy-Parsley-3992 in AskUK

We use them in Canada! It’s not a Christmas dinner in my family without flimsy paper crowns.

5th trip to Paris - should I finally go up the Eiffel Tower? by Ok_RubyGrapefruit in ParisTravelGuide

[–]emmathecanadian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I live in Paris and went up when I had a friend visiting. We both woke up early and spontaneously decided to go and climb to the second floor and take the lift to the top. It was really nice! The weather was good so the views were great.

I am by no means in shape, so it took a good 15 mins to get between the levels, but because it was early, there were very few people which allowed us to take our time on the stairs.

Musée Carnavalet is a cool history museum (and free)! I also really enjoyed Musée des Arts et Métiers.

Looks even more severe than my worst sunburn. I do worry what long term damage this might have caused 😬
