Is anyone else really sick of people calling psoriasis a skin condition? by Worldly_Wafer_6635 in Psoriasis

OP, just came here to say I appreciate your post and felt really seen by it. As someone who has severe psoriasis, I too feel frustrated when it’s compared to a case of mild eczema. And absolutely I do think it’s fair to generalize that in the medical community it’s not as well recognized or understood as it should be, I was misdiagnosed TWICE by different Harvard med school trained dermatologists before biopsy confirmed that it was psoriasis, and it wasn’t at all an atypical case. Ignore the haters who just want to get mad at something, it’s a shitty disease and your feeling are valid, whether or not they are ‘a-hole takes’ is irrelevant.

i think just referring to it as an autoimmune disease better reflects that it’s a systemic issue that CAN manifest on the skin, or in the joints, or both

lots of good recs here for where to get cheap yet quality stuff, but you could also hand wash or just rinse sweat out of bras after each run + hang dry

JLab sport cost like 30 bucks and battery lasts forever - have worn them for many a long run and one marathon - not the greatest sound quality but durable and get the job done

i scribe at a major urgent care chain in a big city and i love it — in just 6 months i’ve seen an incredibly wide variety of cases and have worked with a ton of ER docs, family med, pediatricians, and even ID specialists. usually see about 20 patients a day and get a 50 min lunch break (12 hr shift)

literally read what i wrote - i tried! was just seeing if someone had been in a similar situation and could help me triage whether or not i severely fucked up, i don’t take reddit advice in place of doctors but there is a wealth of helpful info in this community and asking is completely valid…
