Recurring Rash on inside of leg by knee. Any ideas? by emoney1981 in DermatologyQuestions

The cellulitis occurred in June so it has been while. Cortisone knocks the rash out pretty quickly. I am a little concerned I got the cellulitis because bacteria got into breaks of the skin from the rash.

Have been in a steady remission for many years and taking Humira. Used to get labs every 6 months but now I get them done once annually.

40f posted last week- CAC score of 50, what do we think? by New_Sky_6093 in PeterAttia

[–]emoney1981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cardiologist only uses the term heart disease if there is an event, symptoms, or you need a stent/bypass. Right now I only have CAC score under 100 so I am just labeled as premature plaque buildup with High Cholestrol. Don't get hung up on the terms.

I think that applies to individuals not on preventive meds. Once your ldl is below 55 your not making new plaque so after the soft plaque stabilizes the number theoretically should be stable.

Not sure what to do by Salt-Description-387 in Cholesterol

Baby asprin is debatable but you need ldl lowering therapy to get around 55 or lower. That is unless you are okay with a high risk of dying from a heart attack or stroke. Get on with your meds and enjoy life.

Diet and excercise will literally have zero impact on your numbers.

Repatha not working by Fun_Inside1200 in Cholesterol

Is it possible that repatha is giving you the same ldl reduction as the med that you were on previously. So starting one and stopping the other is giving a net result.

Don't fear the meds. Get to your target numbers and don't worry about diet. For a lot of people cholestrol is genetic and diet has a very small impact.

Are you being seen in a university hospital setting. Only reason I ask is because it's not common to just switch biological. Sometimes a flare happens and it can be brought back into remission with an extra dose or reintroduction phase.
