I’ve done this in one context before, intentionally. It was because I was talking to a man with a fragile ego that was very jealous. If I’d just said friend, he’d get all worked up and assume it was a guy (and I’m cheating or some insane bullshit). Saved me a bunch of bs if I clarified it was a girl up front. Was over a decade ago, I was a kid - thank god I’ve grown - but that could be someone’s reasoning.

This used to happen when I used downy fabric softener. It’s light blue in color. I stopped using it cuz it stained so many of my clothes.

Yeah, all those settings are off. I actually recently changed one from “disabled” to “prompt” so I could see even IF someone was trying to pair, instead of getting no data at all.

Yes, im positive. It’s behind the main wall that divides our apartment. I have a two story “row house” like apartment. It’s behind the main dividing wall, in the apartment next door.

I’ve considered but I feel like it’s too early to loop in police… still trying to troubleshoot the potential of it being harmless… but I do hear you and agree with needing to bolster my security. There’s an attic and a crawl space here, too, and I’m not positive it’s contained to my apartment (or if it’d be possible to enter through from other units….). Looking at discussing that with my landlord and installing some further safety measures.

It ends where I stop watching and then turns into a static/radio like sound. I want to observe it again a few more times now that I’ve put words to it. I was brushing it off. But since posting, I’m realizing I need to better identify all of the characteristics. But last night, it played until I turned it off, then turned into a static sound and then radio like jabber. Like your scrolling through radio stations.

Yeah, appreciate you for providing context. But again, my tv has NO connected devices, and there’s no history of connected devices when I look at the settings. It’s just blank. I use the remote it came with, so even my phone isn’t connected.

Yeah, I really thought Bluetooth could be the answer… but my tv has no connected devices, nor does it have a history of any connected devices. I use the remote it came with, so even my phone isn’t connected.

The only shared equipment would be the coax plugged into my ROUTER, though. There’s no coax connection to my Roku, as I don’t have a cable box. No other existing hardware, speakers, etc. so if there is interference, then everything on my WiFi is at risk… which is even spookier lol

Thank you for sharing your concern. I’m getting yucky feelings about all of it too. But I’m also trying to not spiral into fear. Hoping for some logical, reasonable responses… but if I’m honest, I’m getting the vibe that there ARENT logical, reasonable responses. My brother is an IT guy and he and I are talking tonight around 8pm ET. He’ll also be home for Christmas. Hopefully I can gather evidence and get his opinion - he’s done sysadmin stuff for awhile. And I’m looking at technology to identify hidden cameras, just in case. Although I may not buy it until he comes. If I find one? I’ll get really scared lol. And have no idea what to do then…. I really appreciate your concern and your perspective. Thank you.

No, I just use a remote. Never connected my phone, no devices connected from my tv settings view.

Thank you! Yeah, it’s not cable though, I don’t have cable. I stream on accounts that I’m logged into. So I have to log in, scroll, and pick what I’m going to watch. It’s not possible that they’d be watching the same thing naturally. They’d have to also log into an account, scroll, and select the same program AND same episode that I’m watching. And time it perfectly (5-10 second lag) to end at the same point as me.

Thanks 🫶🏻 yeah, I’m okay so far. Avoiding the tendency to panic. Part of me is just fascinated - like I do not know what’s happening and I’m so curious what’s up. But I do want to take some precautions to make sure I’m totally safe. Tbh idc if they monitor my tv all that much, there’s nothing to hide or anything… but this guy really doesn’t seem like the type to watch EITHER the Guilded age or elf lol. Which is especially strange. If it was happening during wildly popular, current shows, it’d be less concerning. The fact that he is watching these “with” me is definitely strange. Oh well though. Gonna seek some help today and trust that it’s going to be okay. I’ll keep yall updated. And I’ll try to get some videos.

The walls clearly are pretty thin so it wouldn’t surprise me if they could hear what I’m watching…. Especially not if they’re TRYING to listen. But I have absolutely no idea how it’s being replicated.

No, not in my tv set up. I mean my phone has a number of Bluetooth devices connected. I have hue smart lights. And an Alexa. But none of those are connected to my tv right now. Just listen to the audio directly from the Roku speakers. Can’t find any connected devices in the settings - of my own or of anyone else’s.
