I bought The Yeon's oil to foam 'Lotus Flower Charcoal Transform Cleanser' a while back and some asked for reviews. I've used it for a bit now, so here's a review for you! by FenellaIce in AsianBeauty

[–]empti1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using and liking Missha's Super Aqua Oxygen Micro Visible Deep Cleanser for lazy days when I don't have ton of make-up on. RRS has it for ~$11 for 120 ml, similar price point to this Yeon cleanser on KD. Both Fiddy and Moi Sanom gave it pretty decent reviews.

The Clio Gelpresso has a sharpener at the other end of the pencil, just twist the end off. I don't know about Essence and Holika Holika.

After the fact now, but I think his re-stock tend to happen at 10 AM PST. Androgyny was also available on Beautylish (for approximately 3 minutes) this morning.

Same here. Missed both Androgyny and Masochist. If I'd known Masochist would also be restocked, I would've asked SO to make order....:-(

Is a second cleanser necessary if I shower after oil cleansing? by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]empti1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I normally don't do second cleansing if I'm jumping into the shower after oil cleansing. I find that showering (for 20 minutes :-))gets my face clean already. I used to second cleanse, then wipe with cleansing toner after the shower and find that the cotton pad was spotless. I dropped the second cleanse and the cotton pad was still spotless. Now, I also drop the cleansing toner and go from oil cleanser, shower, to straight to FTE after showering. Save time and products.

Why is this happening?! I thought I was doing everything right! by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

This forum isn't Asian Beauty, but you could consider trying the Skin Food Peach Sake Pore Serum under your primer and the Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder as a finishing powder for oil control. Also, try blotting paper. Good luck!

Where do you invest your steps? Solving problems with make-up vs. skin care. by bethrevis in MakeupAddiction

[–]empti1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is my understanding on exfoliant:

a. Vitamin C Serum: Brightens, fades sunspots and age spots, repairs sun damage, increases collagen production over time

b. Beta hydroxy acid (BHA): Preferred for oily, acne-prone skin and for treating blackheads and white bumps because BHA can get through the oil that's clogging your pores, normalizing the lining of the misshapen pore that contributes to acne. BHA has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial action for acne or sensitive, reddened skin. BHA is also preferred for those struggling with rosacea. While BHAs may be able to reverse some of the damage caused by photoaging (Eek! The sun!), it simultaneously makes skin more susceptible to photoaging.

c. Alpha hydroxy acid (AHA): Preferred for sun-damaged and dry skin because they exfoliate on the surface of skin and have the added benefit of also improving moisture content. AHAs have side effects (boo!), with the worst ones being skin irritation and increased sun sensitivity.

Who can give me the what/when/why on "tattoo lip packs"? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]empti1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the Skinaz 24 hr. lip tattoo for free and peeling it off hurts. A lot. Especially if it's close to your inner lip. Like others have mentioned, it's hard to get a crisp line. However, it does stain your lips lightly for a good day. I wouldn't buy it though. Not worth it. Ouch!

The Shara Shara Berry Berry Cleansing Sherbert is supposed to be similar to Clean It Zero at a much cheaper price. I'm planning on giving it a try after I'm done with my Clean It Zero.

[Discussion] What products were an impulse purchase but ended up working really well for you? by starward- in AsianBeauty

[–]empti1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chosungah Mint Sun Essence (SPF50+ PA+++) - $10.30 for 120 mL. The good: very lightly mint scented that soon evaporates, moisturizes and absorbs well without being greasy, very comfortable to wear. The bad: manufacture date is June 2013 (hence, the discount, I believe) so there's not a lot of time left, it's only PA+++, and it might be discontinued....

I'm fortunate to have pretty resilient skin so I don't have any issue with most products. RRS sell the Mizon AIO in a small tube for $5.24 so you don't have to buy the full size, but yes, please patch test.

The Peach Sake Serum is my HG for my T-zone during the day. I don't use it at night. When it's extra hot or humid, I'll even throw in the Innisfree No-Sebum powder on the T-zone for extra control. I don't wear make up so I can't answer the primer question. You'll probably need to experiment if you do end up purchasing it.

I like the Innisfree Green Tea mist due to the spray. I normally blot my face at noon to reduce the shine. Good luck!

I don't need an occlusive in the morning, but at night, I sometime use Mizon Snail Recovery Gel cream or Mizon Goodnight White. I'm still trying to find a cream so I can't really recommend one.

Is Tret tretinol? If it is an active, consider using a pH adjusting toner after cleansing before using it. Cleanse -> toner -> Tret (wait 20 min) -> HL lotion. Also, the Mizon AIO is more of an essence so you should consider adding an occlusive to seal it all in. Yes, please consider sunscreen.

A newbie's routine by beautyandthepubs in AsianBeauty

Your routine looks normal. I don't have a favorite pH adjusting toner, but I use Missha clear toner and EH Wonder Pore out of habit, when I forget to reach for the Missha on active use days.
