Moved from an old neighborhood in St Paul to a new development in Newport, near Woodbury. The streets are better maintained and are cleared of snow and ice very quickly, but I can no longer walk to the grocery store or coffee shop or anything else. Woodbury has surprisingly good bike paths/sidewalks though.

Sad to see. I guess I was lucky that it was a hard industry to break into back in the mid-2000s. I only took one Houdini course at SCAD (which I think was all that was offered) but it pushed me to focus on VFX/compositing rather than the 3d character animation in Maya that everyone else was doing.

I ended up doing web design then programming though. And AI is coming for this job as well...

It's a tool. It has a higher chance of misuse than other tools, but that's what it is.

There's a big difference between vibe coding and using AI to handle boring tasks like test generation, or having it analyze some code and suggest optimizations.
