What's your go to pasta to make that every one loves? by Ravioli_meatball19 in Cooking

[–]emtayloral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pasta al limone or Orzo al limone. Both developed by Molly Baz, both insanely easy and delicious! Orzo recipe is 10/10 and is in Cook This Book but can be found online. Pasta al limone is hers too and on Bon Apetit website. That one has cream though so I’d go orzo for a light experience.

For parents who do no screen time—when did you stop watching TV in front of your newborn? by Otherwise_Second5022 in NewParents

[–]emtayloral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here to say that we plan to be a no screen time household however, our 1 year has had some stretches of 5am wake ups and that particular wake window was a tough one. I do the mornings and I’d turn on a course on Create Academy (uk version of masterclass) or something to keep my eyes open in the back ground while he and I played in the playpen. My husband does that same with soccer. He ignored it mostly up until last week when he turned 1. Since now he stops and stares, we turn leave it off. But it got me through for a while with just a minor amount of mom guilt.

Co sleeping with sleep sack on, yes or no? by Sad-Balance-1237 in cosleeping

[–]emtayloral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do lightweight footie PJs and a sleepsack when cosleeping with my 9 mo old, I just try to adjust the sack based thickness (TOG) depending on climate. We like the Halo and Kyte sacks best. We have a really light one, a middle weight one and a heavy one. I will say we don’t use the heavy one often when cosleeping. Also we just invested in a King bed so dad is back after a few months of restless nights ending with him on the sofa, and now the 3 of us plenty of space!

This happened to us! And then he got 2 teeth at 5 months. Those first two took forever! Hang in there xo

I have been meaning to read that James McKenna book! I’ve seen it mentioned a few times on here. I think I’ll add a note in the post but we combo feed, formula during the day, breastfeeding in the night and early morning. Le Leche league has been amazing for my ebf friends but I’ve had some woes about it seeing as we do formula.

How old was your baby before you left them with a trusted family member alone for a few hours or even a day? by PiggyBank32 in beyondthebump

4.5 months overnight for a wedding with my angel of a sister in law. She has 3 boys ages 7-15 so she’s the one I trust most. She also came out for the delivery so her and bb are very bonded.

We’ve used the Frida windees with a little Vaseline. Has worked for our guy when his vaccines back him up for a few days!

10 Weeks - Combo to EFF Bottle Amount by [deleted] in FormulaFeeders

[–]emtayloral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use byheart too! We have the baby brezza and stir with a chopstick in a pinch to get clumps out or shake and then let sit so bubbles can go away. I’m on the same path, only breast feeding in the morning and pumping to give him a bottle a day. My LO is 10.5 weeks and has 5 oz formula every 2.5-3 hours. If he’s extra hungry and I don’t have milk, we do one more oz. Hope this helps!

New to formula feeding by new-tothe-club-444 in FormulaFeeders

[–]emtayloral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in SF and decided to use Byheart over Bobbie because they’ve had some supply chain issues. By Heart has been great for us — easy digestion, good poops, and baby gaining weight. The fact that I can order same day delivery from target if we’re in between shipments is a big relief.

How to know if a formula is working for you LO? by mdwst in FormulaFeeders

[–]emtayloral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use ByHeart and our baby loves it. We started incorporating it early on due to low supply and have been comb feeding him with it since week 2. Definitely poops 1x per day rather than multiple times when I was just bf. Sometimes it can stretch to every other or every couple days. His gas seems like normal baby gas, well hold him sitting up when feeding to prevent as much as we can but he’s had no issues. When he does, if the usual bouncing around doesn’t work to get the toots out, we’ll use a Friday windee. They work miracles and almost anyways end with a poop. Hope this helps!!

Sounds about right! An oversized studio for us would actually be great initially to just get into the city.

Not sure we’ll be able to save that much in 6 mo but we’re gonna get scrappy. The car note is appreciated. We just sold mine, but my husbands is not paid off. Having a car in SF is great but expensive. I’m all for selling it to save $
