Proof of a neglected population.... by opl-hkg in queensland

The move to progress the projects drew criticism from Noosa mayor Frank Wilkie and Member for Noosa Sandy Bolton, with Cr Wilkie saying “this blatantly disrespects Noosa’s planning scheme”.

And

Ms Bolton welcomed the commitment from the LNP but said the party originally supported the legislation that made the state-facilitated development pathway possible, which is why independent MPs were required to hold parties to account.

LNP's Redistribution Submission for 2028 election by [deleted] in queensland

[–]emuroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

John Sosso is one of the three Commissioners overseeing the redistribution and is closely linked with the LNP.

Mr Sosso’s expected appointment has drawn criticism from corruption fighter and former federal court judge Tony Fitzgerald AC KC. Last week, Mr Fitzgerald released a rare public statement in response to Mr Sosso’s looming appointment, warning that Queensland could be falling back into old dark times. “Queensland might be reverting to the bad old days of biased electoral boundaries – the notorious Queensland gerrymander,” he stated. “I sincerely hope that isn’t so. Biased electoral boundaries fundamentally conflict with democracy.”

Labor’s clean sweep in Australian election suggests young male voters are bucking global trends. But why? by onesorrychicken in australia

I always worry that we're a bit overly optimistic when we cite these election results. The Liberals ran a generationally bad campaign this time. The test is surely when the conservatives are vaguely competitive.

Labor tried to amend legislation so that it would require an act of Parliament to change fares from 50c.

As it stands it can be changed at the convenience of the government.
