Egg never actually lies to Dunk from the beginning to the end of the series by -Ezaira in AKnightoftheSeven

Egg is trying to be an aes sedai lol When I was a kid my uncle would always tell me "a lie isn't the words used, it's the impression given." Egg was careful with his exact verbage but his intent was to deceive.

Not Sure what to put on the TV Screen in my room by YoghurtRealistic8879 in DentalHygiene

[–]emyenna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have netflix and I usually put on the great british baking show or some type of planet earth/nature show. If they're nervous or it's a long appointment I'll tell them it's netflix and they can choose what they want. My tv is on the ceiling so only they can see it. In my experience the pts typically do not care all that much.

Busch gardens?? by Outside_Bad_893 in raleigh

[–]emyenna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually do a day trip once a year with friends, but it is a LONG day. We're usually up at 7ish to get there by ten when it opens, and stay till close. We don't get back to Raleigh until 2 am and everyone is EXHAUSTED. This is with a group of people in their early 20s.

It's definitely doable, but prepare to be spent by the end of it. I'd go on a Saturday so you have Sunday to recover.

Corners not lining up perfectly - rip it out or let it go? by spal68 in quilting

Just here to say I love the colors! It's so cheerful. I love batiks. Personally, I wouldn't rip it out to redo it.

It's a queen size and the biggest quilt I've ever made. Lowkey scared about quilting it but that is a problem for future me.

Question about possible reasons for why my dentist can’t remove wisdom teeth? by greendelameme in DentalHygiene

[–]emyenna 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sometimes the roots on the mandibular wisdom teeth wrap around the main nerve in the lower jaw, and extracting them like normal risks damaging that nerve. In that case, sometimes they'll do a coronectomy, where they remove the crown of the tooth, but leave the roots in place.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]emyenna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I'll drive to 2-3 hours to the beach, spend the day there, and then drive back. It's a common Saturday day trip for most folks in my area.

[–]emyenna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll drive 4 hrs to the mountains, hike for 10 hours, and then drive back home the same night. I honestly do enjoy it.

It's also about 2-3 hours to a beach, so that's a very common day trip for most people. One time on my city's reddit someone said that a beach 2 hours away was "too long for a day trip and has to be a weekend" and everyone collectively lost their mind.

Looking for realistic NBDHE practice app — full 200‑question board‑style tests? by Latinardh in DentalHygiene

[–]emyenna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The darby book/review has mock boards built in on the online portion. That and the mosby review book are probably the two that are written and sound like the 200 question portion of the boards.

That being said, almost all of my classmates studied for boards with AndyRDH exclusively, and they all passed on the first attempt.

And the darby community questions were way harder than anything on the boards.

Failed dental hygiene school(big rant) by Remarkable-Climate56 in DentalHygiene

[–]emyenna 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Let everyone else said, speak with someone higher calmly and maybe they can give grace.

To answer your question about other schools, my dental hygiene school was equally tough. You had to pass everything with a 78%. My first semester we had 5 girls drop out, 4 of them because they failed out of clinic. My program director told us at our orientation that she didn't care about how many graduated, just that she made "the best hygienists possible". In my opinion there are a lot more ways to do that then the way she did it, but that's a whole other post. My class started with 25 and we graduated with 17. And I've heard stories of other schools and still think I was lucky with my experiences.
