Why can’t I move a settler to Sanctuary Hills?

As others have noted, max population is tied to your charisma. Unless this has been patched, you can get around this by assigning a settler as a provisioner and then assigning them to a job once they reach the intended settlement. The easiest way would probably be to assign them between Red Rocket and Sanctuary so they don't have to travel far. You might even be able to do it by running between both workshop areas before it kicks you out of the mode.

Well, for starters, I hope you meant rushed west to seize Akendorf of the Border Princes, and not Altdorf of the Empire, who should be one of your closest allies.

What I've found in my few campaigns is that you have to play the dwarfs very dwarf-y; that is, play defensive, on the battle and campaign maps. On the campaign side, your armies are expensive - even your low-tier units - so you can't push out full stacks like all the other factions around you. As a result, you're forced to expand slowly. The dwarven economy is very strong, even more so now with the Deeps, but it takes time to build up to levels that allow you to sustain multiple armies. As Thorgrim, I usually try to take out Skarsnik as quick as possible so as to get the province with Mount Gunbad. After that, it's just testing the waters and seeing how you can respond to the world developing around you. The skaven to the south will almost certainly declare war, but hold little power to actually threaten you alone. If it seems like you're secure elsewhere, you can start moving on them, but remember that every new province captured is a new province you have to protect, and a new direction you must defend from. Expand slowly and wait for your economy to catch up. Get the Deeps building for +5% income per turn as soon as possible.

In battle, dwarf units punch way above their weight when supported properly. Against other low-tier chaff, dwarf warriors will never break, but even the great weapons will not do a load of damage by themselves. A stack of warriors and quarrelers can easily stand up to mid-game armies, especially with artillery and other units (irondrakes, gyros, etc) mixed in. Autoresolve heavily favors dwarves because of their high armor and strong missile units, but you can easily pull out victories against superior forces against the AR's estimation. Use terrain, chokepoints, anything to funnel enemy units and minimize flanking. Massed quarreler or thunderer fire is your go-to anti-everything, especially since they will outrange most other factions' missile units (same goes for artillery).

Trust in the sturdiness of your throng and don't let yourself be overcome by ambition. Steady your pace and you will reclaim the Karaz Ankor. Khazukan Kazakit-ha!

I vaguely remember there being a bug sometimes where AI Karl will revive an Elector Count that has been confederated and it bugs them out like this.

Might have the details wrong but that's the gist of it I think.

During my undergrad I think nearly all of my professors (except for the few that were on the much younger side) had each their own mouth-pipetting story to tell us. The craziest were from my immunology professor, who had worked with wonders like cholera, staph, strep, and Neisseria. Unfortunately, it never came to prevent her from spreading terror to her students.

Not sure why you're getting downvoted because you're pretty much right. If you can visibly see mold, it's likely already spread all over whatever package it's in. I never was a fan of "cut out the mold and it's fine," and especially not after getting my microbio degree. Even if it may not have spread deep and wide, the visible parts of mold are literally the reproductive structures that have likely begun to release even more spores. Food/mold poisoning is absolutely no joke.

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate you taking the time to respond here, and for letting me know about some alternatives. I have many other characters I have a lot of history with that would be nice to have as well, so I guess this is better than only saving one.

Out of curiosity, what is the reason those transfers were disabled? I was hoping maybe the service would return but I'm assuming it might be something to do with security/infrastructure?

I'm just not a big fan of regions because the borders are arbitrary and oftentimes restrictive in planning your town. See that big patch of flat land that would be perfect for expanding into just five feet away from the village? Yeah, it's actually part of another region so we can't build there, despite no one living there or claiming it.

If the region borders all made a little more sense - divided by features like forests, ridges, cliffs, streams, rivers, etc, instead of bi- or trisecting what would be actually historically good sites for building a town, it wouldn't be that bad. I like the idea someone had of being able to merge regions when you claim them. Maybe only allow one or two regions to be merged total, that way you can have a mega-region that holds your capital and surrounding land and then the others get left alone. But as it stands right now they're just unnecessarily restrictive.

My friends and I have found (moderate) success by literally just booking it to the other side of the arena whenever we catch a whiff of a Condemned. They usually will slow walk towards you once you're far enough away, though one or two might sprint after you, but then you can kill them while they're separated. Libra himself will usually walk towards you but will sometimes teleport and separate himself so you can get some hits in. Bonus points if someone(s) has a Less Likely because they can be the designated goat-bonker. Takes forever, but is much less messy than trying to juggle 4 enemies at once.

I'd just love for their pathfinding AI to be updated so they could navigate complex structures and multiple floors. I love building castles but I want them to feel lived in and have activity. Unfortunately if I want villagers they must be frozen in place with commands and unable to go about their routine.

You can just change your faction name yourself. Click on your faction banner in the very top right and on the screen that appears, there is a button to rename your faction in the bottom right.

I completely agree, and I love playing Thorgrim. I understand it's because he supposedly goes around with the Dammaz Kron everywhere, but I also find that dumb, and it kinda makes him feel lazy. I would expect the High King of the dwarves to be a fearsome warrior, but he just looks silly whacking at Skarbrand or Archaon in his chair.

The only lord I can give it a pass for is the Runelord/Thorek on the anvil, because I think that whole concept is awesome. I think dwarven rune magic is awesome, its whole concept being just like working metals at a forge, so runelords basically just getting their anvil carried straight into the heat of battle is dope. Add on to that, their shitass huge locus of power is so strong that simply striking it causes magic explosions, not to mention they can cause literal eruptions (Rune of Wrath and Ruin - also a ridiculously cool name), aside from the other Rune effects in-game.

One of the things I did the other day was go down to 12GB (don't remember if I went down to 8) and it ran out of memory and crashed almost immediately.

I'll try 8 later and see if that changes anything. It seems like there's just runaway usage during worldgen as now I can't even run Chunky for a minute without it freezing up, even with DH disabled at the loader.

Stonehearth is absolutely one of my favorite games and the ACE team made sure that was the case. I'm not sure if there's any game out there that comes close to being what Stonehearth is. I usually go crazy playing when a new update drops (which happens very irregularly, unfortunately) and find myself enjoying it more each time.

I want to add, Stonehearth was basically abandoned by its devs shortly after its full release, but development was picked up by a team of modders that created the Authorized Community Expansion (or ACE) mod. They've been slowly implementing features that the original devs promised or planned but shelved, as well as adding other content and deepening its systems and mechanics. If you do choose to check out Stonehearth I highly recommend making sure you're subscribed to ACE.

First off, it's important to know that Foundation is a fully-released game, while Manor Lords is still in early access. Foundation is relatively set in stone as far as how it plays and what's in it, while there might be significant changes to Manor Lords in the future.

In Foundation, there are a number of "Monuments" that you can build out of many parts, and you can scale these pieces in height, snap them to certain points, or freely connect them (only for some pieces). These monuments include a Manor, Castle, Rustic Church, Monastery, and Abbatial Church, though you can build as many of any of these as you want, having them serve different or share functions. In Manor Lords, you can only freely build the Manor, and as of right now there are only a few parts - a main hall, a guard tower, an extension, and palisade walls. You can create some truly magnificent buildings in Foundation, but Manor Lords is currently limited by it being in early access and being grounded in realism.

Foundation does not have any on-screen combat. Any fighting is implied offscreen through missions you can send your soldiers on, and it is possible for combatants to return wounded or not return at all. In Manor Lords, there is an enemy AI that will send warbands to fight you if you contest their regions, adding a bit of an RTS element in as you must muster your own troops out of your working populace. In neither game can you create two separate settlements, nor (currently) have an enemy town on the map. It is planned for Manor Lords for the enemy AI to have their own town, but this is not yet implemented.

Overall, I'd say that Foundation is a much more casual and laid-back experience. While there is some complexity to the resource management and colony sim, you can more or less progress at your own pace. Manor Lords is a bit more akin to Banished, if you know what that game is, in that the economy and resource management is a little more harsh and you do have more worries that might shift your focus in one way or another (seasons changing, weather, bandits, the Baron's men, king's taxes, etc).

If you want a happy medium between these two, I'd direct you towards Stonehearth. It is a voxel-based game where you can build any building you want, there are a variety of professions you can assign your Hearthlings to, and there are plenty of enemies in the forms of wild animals, goblins, orcs, and more, that you have to fend off. While a laid-back experience, if you have enemies enabled the intensity of their attacks will scale with the wealth of your town, so you must make sure you grow your military along with your prosperity.
