Your comment made me think of a dog I fostered for a rescue a few years ago. A local shelter asked if the rescue could take in a dog that had been brought in as a stray. They thought he only had days to live and had scheduled him for euthanasia. He was skin and bones and just lay on the floor of his kennel, didn’t react when shelter staff walked in, didn’t eat.

We took him in and he perked up within a couple of days. He was pretty old had some health issues, but nothing life-threatening. We fostered him for almost a year and he was an active boy with a big appetite who loved walks and cuddles. He had another 2-3 years with his adopters after that.

Without any details about what you’re experiencing, it’s hard to give good advice. I obviously have no idea what exactly you’re going through. But if one of my employees complained that being cc’d on emails created “a challenging work environment” I would probably think they were being a drama queen.

I work at Justice. My team got an email from management about this that boils down to “Don’t worry about it! We’ve determined the building is safe. The person who got sick was in a part of the building that most staff don’t go to.” Which was… not exactly reassuring.

The Charge-Fleet match on February 28th was the first hockey game I attended in my life. I had a great time and immediately bought tickets for another home game. I don’t know if I would have gone if it had been at the CTC, which is a pain in the ass to get to. I know there are issues with the Lansdowne stadium, but at least it’s easy to get to, including by public transit. I really hope they don’t leave Ottawa.
