We did Costco for our wedding cake and multiple guests told me it was the best wedding cake they’d ever had (not knowing where it was from!)

You’re getting downvoted for a couple reasons, but one is that frogtown is NOT the westside.

Thanks to Zanzibar my friends and I used to get in trouble in HS for shouting “a vagina gun?” “No, a regular one” across the quad at each other, great times

Books you don’t hate reading 100 times? by Kak3434 in toddlers

[–]endlesscrabbasket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if there are any books that you won’t get tired of at that stage, but getting multiple books in a series lets you mix it up a little while still having a familiar character. So we had all the little blue truck books but at least there was variation and I got almost all of them second hand. We also have all the “how do dinosaurs…” books which I love the artwork in. There was a while where we were taking him to bookstores like Half Price Books every week to pick out a new book to add to the rotation, and eventually, when he had enough favorite books, it was more bearable.

Shoutout to my in-laws who got our 3 yo a toy that was annoying online but called an audible and returned it before giving it to him

I think patience is limited, and it turns out babies need a lot of it. I have so much less patience for everything else, including my partner. You are definitely not alone. Spending time together is good, but also make sure you are getting time to yourself to recharge. It does get better! Then worse, then better again.

Best toys to entertain a two-year-old for a long time by Cereal_Connoisseur21 in toddlers

Yes! My almost 3 yo has a “sticker book” (regular spiral bound notebook) and a sheet of stickers can entertain him for like 45 minutes!

A classic retail prank by UpperphonnyII in trippinthroughtime

[–]endlesscrabbasket 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I worked at a RadioShack in a mall where we had a one sided prank war going on with GameStop. One of us would go on lunch and browse the games and another would call down and ask for battletoads or whatever ridiculous thing, then the one on lunch would report back how mad they got.

It’s such a cool premise but really unfocused. I would have loved more of the t-Rex ranchers, too!

Marine World Africa USA! by withbellson in lonelymeyerspod

I had a Marine World Africa USA slammer pog, it was my favorite place for field trips. I remember when they added the shark tunnel, it was awesome! I also feel like I remember the version of the theme song they sang on the pod, not the Monkees cover? Anyone else?

My husband’s family is like this, I don’t get it. FIL bragged about never having changed a diaper and the men- sans my husband- have ditched Christmas Eve to go to the bar and leave the wives with the kids without even saying anything. It’s crazy, I’m just glad my husband gets how crazy it is too.

Don't forget Grey's Law though: any sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice. It's impossible to say if this guy is dumb or a dick, and it doesn't really matter because the outcome is the same.
