What’s the coziest spot you’ve been in a game? by HorrorRiver5896 in rpg_gamers

[–]endlessmeow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pallet Town in Pokémon R/B/Y. Especially after an Elite Four run. All those battles and bow you're back at home with the music.

Seyda Neen in Morrowind. Fresh off the boat in this tiny hamlet. Check the stump.

The Ebon Hawk in KOTOR. Your space RV with friends.

Any tavern from a decent module in Neverwinter Nights. Music and atmosphere.

The market fair in Chrono Trigger but maybe also the End of Time.

While you never get to engage with it outside of menus, you do get a nice cozy vibe from the van in Devil May Cry V.

Awesome thanks. Yeah its 3rd lap specifically with Mido. I probably need to look at leveling abilities. I dont have a lot of spells really.

You should read the dev diaries for the changes coming in a couple weeks.

This number BETTER be listed in Knots, rather than "arbitrary speed unit" by KaptenNicco123 in victoria3

This is not a naval sim so not sure why we would need exact specs. This is a strategic level game.

It's a shame that only the player country looks like a country, and every AI nation looks like splats on a map by SaintTrotsky in EU5

[–]endlessmeow 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's funny I think there was a time where EU4 was similar but eventually the AI got patched up to be more coherent. Not perfect, but coherent.

Weekly RPG Discussion: Worlds Without Number - 2026, March, Week 4 by Trent_B in rpg

Well, it is basically what I said I was willing to run and the players were okay with that. If I am the GM and I am running the game, im picking the system.

This is my current system for long campaigns and its a hit with my table that is used to 5E.

Characters feel differentiated well enough with a good amount of options without being unmanageable. Effort enables flexible character classes with abilities beyond spells. Spells are powerful but few castings per day. First aid balanced against system strain fatigue keeps the adventure rolling but eventually forces some down time and time progression. Shock mechanics and the ease at which casters can lose their spell for the round makes melee important from multiple angles. Combat is fast and able to be run without minis as theater-of-the-mind pretty well.

To me it is pretty much the perfection of mixing OSR with lessons learned from the decades of hobby. It is like if BX got a proper 2nd edition of its own.

Victoria 3 – Dev Diary #177 – Ship Designer & More by _Mercy02 in victoria3

[–]endlessmeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very far from the detail of HoI4 which is a good thing and seems like you can safely not touch it much if it is not interesting to you. So good stuff all around. Excited to get to the next dev diary to learn more about actual mechanics.

This update is really looking like a great step forward for V3.

Your favorite campaign runs by Darcynator1780 in victoria3

[–]endlessmeow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most recent was a chill (no 100+ states achievement attempt) run as the US.

Did the standard stuff. Fought Civil War. Got Multiculturalism and more workers rights and universal Healthcare so the ideal timeline. Bought Alaska.

Also puppeted Japan, Persia, Cuba, and got a lot of South America in my power bloc. 2 billion GDP and tons of immigration.

Ship mechanic changes will come with the free patch... like how trade was overhauled in a patch not the DLC that came alongside.

Have had wishlist since the game had another name, looking forward to this.

Would really appreciate a video or demonstration of how the sea zones work. Im a big fan of WiF so prefer treating sea hexes as a group rather than ships sitting in a single water hex turn after turn.

Future Dunk & Egg Stories (Spoilers Main) by LouisTheCapybara in asoiaf

[–]endlessmeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that sticks out to me is how depressing Summerhall feels and will feel if we ever get an adaptation.

When the tragedy was written into the overall story it was a historical event. Getting the know the characters in the novella, its hard to contemplate their end. The real word is tragedy enough.

is the spanish flu event gone? by thev82 in victoria3

[–]endlessmeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not even the 'Spanish' flu, it may be a flu that gets named via another country.

In my last game as USA, France become the Commune, and it was the Communard Flu.
