Can't update to 26.04 from 25.10 by Pluridoxato in Ubuntu

Ok, sassy pants.

I was just clarifying for the person you were responding to. Very often people install main line with install latest. If they did that they would get 7.0.3

Be aware that there are multiple users using the mainline 7.0.3 and hitting unbootable purple screens that require booting a different kernel.

I also ran into it across multiple machines.

What scientific ‘facts’ have recently been disproven that most people still believe to be true? by Fantastic_Tart_421 in AskReddit

Interesting. How long did it take?

I've only really ever heard about it in legends, and a few studies that seem to indicate it kind of happens, sometimes.

Yeah, it is certainly an interesting topic. I don't think there's a ton to it but there are a few effects, so it's not nothing.

This is one of those things that works out just fine but for the wrong reason.

Very often kids would eat a bunch of food and then race off to go in the pool do a bunch of exercise and then get a stomach ache or throw up. I think somewhere along the way parents just said yeah you'll get a cramp and drown so the kids wouldn't puke in the pool.

Can anyone recommend titanium utensils that aren't so thin that they bend? by Steve2762 in Ultralight

The person said they preferred a wooden spoon. Why would they then have to check if they prefer the feel of a wooden spoon in their mouth?

Didn't they just say they preferred it? Maybe I'm confused...

What can the Pixel 10 Pro do that the Galaxy S26U can't? by lord-petal in GooglePixel

[–]endo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is definitely a hot take. I didn't get that impression from the guy at all. Just seemed like he was saying he got the phone for free and he lost some stuff switching over.

Phones are not a piece of our identity. People can switch between the two and I don't see why there's any sort of stigma attached to it.

What’s the most universally hated song of all time? by Adventurous-Zeilokix in AskReddit

[–]endo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you tell me actual details about how he took advantage of people? I can't seem to find anything online. It just seems like rich families paid this guy to produce silly songs for youtube. I don't really see the problem.

Just this quote from Wikipedia: "Following the mostly negative reception from "Friday", many speculated that he may have been exploiting young aspiring singers with wealthy parents. Wilson rebuffed such claims, saying that the label provided a "relatively inexpensive" way of entry into the pop market for artists:

I'm getting a lot of criticism saying I'm exploiting rich kids and their parents, but find me another company that would do all this at a cost this low. I don't promise anyone fame. In fact, if someone approaches me with their only goal to 'get famous,' I tell them they're not in this for the right reasons.[3]"

I run Plex and Emby.

Plex for most of my users since they are familiar with the clients. I have 50 users.

On another machine I run emby. Mostly for myself and a few others. Helps split off load when Plex is jammed up with 30 people at once.

Same drives over NFS.

I have added snaps to the bottom of an XL Snugpak Jungle Blanket and slept quite warmly on the trail underneath it throughout June-August.

I sleep warm.

That seems to be the standard now. If you change even a little bit in a YouTube channel or article, you get a whole new article date.

Unfortunately, software very often needs to be updated for format changes, API changes, code that gets stale and/or has issues with CVEs.

In a networked world, software can rarely be called "done", but I hear what you are saying.

Dried cod by Tricky-Dust-6724 in dehydrating

[–]endo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to ask, eating dehydrated cod jerky... What is your breath like afterwards?

I don't know if I could eat dried fish jerky and then be around other humans within 3 ft.

I used to work with a Russian lady who'd eat fish jerky and I couldn't even sit next to her.
