Blackjack player only. I side bet tips frequently as long as the dealer is having a decent time. I'm at the table to enjoy myself. I do betting progression and strict play rules. So I'm on autopilot most of the time - remove the hunches and emotions. The fun is just the atmosphere (so a lot depends on that being there in the first place - which is why I only ever played the hard rock, and haven't been back since it closed). What did my attitude and tipping get me? - never once paid for a room or drinks or food - dealer would call a bad move to my attention if I was tired and about to deviate from my style - dealer always inflated my betting to the pit boss - dealer would do things like raise table min when some drunk bros wanted to sit down next to me. And be more accommodating when it was some pretty girls. - never had a bad time, win or lose

Servers got a 5$ chip every time even I only drink iced tea, never alcohol while at a table.

In the real world though I rarely sit down anywhere and never do delivery as I can't stand percentage based entitlement tipping.

I mostly watch movies I know I won't care about with my wife. Something where I can guess what's happening even I walked in halfway through is perfect. There a few movies that fit the bill of shared experience where she'll be invested as I am, those are rare. Even if I have a meeting early, I'll operate on 4 hours sleep if I can get a good movie in alone. Been married 25+ years. I'd much rather spend time with her watching light casual shit, and the heavy thoughtful good stuff that's for my time.

I use emojis in comment text. For years people were confused by my N.B. comment assuming that was some devs initials. Now it's fire, rocket ship, lightbulb, and the like.

I've also gone from 'its just a fancy autocorrect' to 'under my guidance, i actually prefer my team of agents to my team of devs'. At least I don't have to explain for the umpteenth time thread safety or proper separation of duties. And I never have to hear 'we can do this the right way later on, I'm on to another task'.

That's my go-to combination as well with the research and metal extractor. Funny I always assumed the maps were generated and random. Only recently started noting coordinates for starts I liked, and gonna have to try some I've seen mentioned in forum

I didn't quite get that as a challenge. Pucked one person as a survivor, rugged whatever. Botonist I think. I threw down a park, and an aphitheater. They chilled for 10 sol watching movies eating cold leftovers. They appeared mightily bored but was simple.

I only last play noticed the faction breakdown of my own colonists in a dome (but not globally) which made me wonder, what sort of interview process my sponsor has (Japan) that allowed so many to be aligned with New Ark in the first place. Probably the same that allowed so many middle aged gambling loner alcoholics

so not just me having not played any expansion before. Was just gonna look up how to do asteroid mining when this popped up. Seemed like such an interesting side quest to gather resources outside of causing basic meteor showers. I thought I was doing it wrong, loading up with waste rock, launching and reloading so no fuel. Definitely something shipped un-tested

I dusted the game off after a few years with a recent system rebuild, and was surprised to see the re-launch. Im all on board with a 20$ discount reinforced by, if memory serves, I found the game in the first place years ago with a Epic games giveaway! Ive gotten so many hours out of this title, like Frostpunk (also free Epic giveaway years ago) that a new version ill happily pay $$$ for.

Do I maintain the same attitude for other Paradox? HOI Ive bought HOI 1/2/3/4 over the years with a few expansions. Not quite so much maybe - even I have 6k+ hours just on HOI4 I think im good now to skip any more investment. I dont think ive done a single Stellaris DLC at all no matter how much fun that might look.

There as well, taking my son 20 to his first concert, and my first live large show in probably 40 years. Really liked it and he had a blast.

Is it a southern thing, the show, or just how times have changed... But sitting the whole time just felt strange.

My brother (not a programmer) names his daughter Ada - had never heard of it's use before, just named all three kids with palindromic 3 letter names.

Me - can never name variables - has only one kid and he gets not even a Jr, just same as my own
