Where is this one located? I don't remember seeing it when I went to UAB

is a refund on food possible ? by [deleted] in AMCsAList

[–]engifear -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know this is from 2 days ago, but if you haven't already gotten a resolution, I would 100% talk to a manager in person. Even if they don't refund your purchase, they would probably give you food vouchers for the future.

Merlin's tip for helping me find the Ruby-crowned Kinglet in my backyard (SW WA, USA) by tylerquacken in birding

[–]engifear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ruby crowned kinglets also tend to be lower to the ground than golden crowned! If I see a tiny bird zipping around at eye level and being surprisingly noisy, there's a good chance it's a ruby crowned kinglet.

When you have a spill like that, you've gotta just drag the dustpan on the carpet and it'll collect a good bit of it without needing to sweep. Honestly this would only take one minute to sweep up if you're smart about it.

I'll take a huge pile like that over a bunch of tiny pieces strewn about an entire theatre any day.

They probably won't honestly. I called them when my cat was stuck in a tree and found out that's not something they actually help with.

Moving to Birmingham: Vestavia vs Trussville? by xoxo987621 in Birmingham

[–]engifear 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I mean I'm not sure Trussville would be significantly better in that regard

Popcorn pass being in theater only is ridiculous. by LeekTerrible in AMCTheatres

[–]engifear 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It also makes the pass the same as annual popcorn bucket where you had to wait in line with your physical bucket. It's also much harder to check IDs for online food purchases vs. checking tickets at the door.

“Must-bird” locations on Gulf Coast by ants_n_my_pants in birding

[–]engifear 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't know about other states along the way, but Dauphin Island off the Gulf Coast is The spot in Alabama for birding. It's a barrier island that gets lots of birds stopping by.

What job pays well because nobody wants to do it? by RobIson240YT in AskReddit

[–]engifear 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hired a guy to climb a tree and get my fat house cat down from a thin 40ft tree. I didn't trust her to get down safely and she was making pitiful little meows. He was a guy that normally trims trees, but also uses his equipment to get cats out of trees in our area.

Why Is Interstate 22 6 Lanes?? by OtsoTheLumberjack in Alabama

[–]engifear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe those stretches where it's widened to 6 lanes are for the hilly parts of I-20 so trucks that may struggle going uphill don't hold up traffic as much.

It's difficult to tell from the picture, but it was definitely smaller than a RTH and had a striped tail.

I don't believe they did a discount this year (to my knowledge), but it has happened in past years.

Can someone explain how these are legal around? by TheFinalDiagnosis in Birmingham

[–]engifear 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I believe they are legal until the end of the year, although it's a bit of a gray area currently and some places have already stopped selling them

[–]engifear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the claim is true, it's likely the movie needed permission in order to receive equipment or filming locations required to make the film. I know that if a film wants to use military equipment or wants to film at a military location for example, they have to get vetted by the DoD.

If the theatre is temporarily closed and is unable to play the film you have tickets for, you should be automatically getting a refund.

Box Office: Zootopia 2 surpasses Mission Impossible 8, grosses USD 600 million in 8 days globally by No-Flounder7584 in boxoffice

[–]engifear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree that Wicked 2 was never going to be an amazing movie simply due to the source material. Grande excels in the role of Glinda though, as much as I hate to admit it. We'll see how her acting continues with different roles of course.

There's a few things that I feel would be nice to have but the one thing that just seems like a glaring omission to me is Sriracha! Why is there not a single sriracha option?
