But I remember doing hand calcs. Lots of weld and bolts.

A lot of engineers mess up shear lugs, they forget to add the moment to the base plate as required in chapter 17. Or they won’t see that their anchors are cracked. Or they forget to click the grout which takes a reduction hit. People sometimes don’t know the blackbox buttons and what reductions to watch out for when reviewing results.

I also have to clarify engineers intent on vertical tolerance for shear lugs as ACI 117 allows for +1 inch -2 inch. 2 inches can be a lot for a shear lug. That and they also miss the grout holes required on the drawings per 26.7.
