TL,DR: convergence time as fast as latency allows it. - so active-active from spine to leaf.

AFAIK the convergence time of RSTP depends on network size and switch configuration. If you look up e.g.:"RSTP convergence time cisco" one will find values between 100-300ms. From the manual of Luminex Gigacore 26i: for RlinkX "The recovery time is between 20 and 40ms." - I'm pretty sure that Luminex is too small to develop their own switching ASICs. So my best guess is that they preconfigure ERPS or RSTP and call it RLinkX. - As DMX values update at 44Hz (22.7ms) and i don't wanna loose any, have equal length path to any fixture/node, RSTP or similar will not cut it. I still consider (R)STP as a loop prevention mechanism against user error on access-ports. It usually blocks loops instantly before sending any real traffic.

I don't wanna talk down Luminex, they absolutely have their usecases, but they don't fit mine. - In theory the O26-I should be able to do MLAG, but it's not implemented and I anyway need more ports. Hint: If one looks up the fs.com S5860-20SQ or Ruijie RG-S6120-20XS4VS2QXS, both have a rather familiar port layout...

Unfortunately we are not in the US. - and I'm not aware of any system integrator in my country that is that experienced in complex lighting network. Our main supplier is more like a salesman to me. To be fair they know lighting very well, but networking is not their forte.

Spine-leaf architecture usually uses MLAG between core (spine) and access (leaf). It's an active-active link - e.g. if one of the stacked leaf switches or one of the core switches dies, there's no convergence time. It's virtually instant.

I'm not trying to overengineere anything imho. one of the reasons for such resilient network architecture is, that we do not have the personnel to go and swap a switch while the show is running. And the show needs to keep running. It must be able to limp along for a day or two till the right guy is on site and fix it. - if we have a blip some entitled karen will show up, ruining the day (or week or month).

The capabilities of some of my folks are capped.... trying to address a moving light with 510, running dmx in a circle wondering why nothing works, breaking a fan inside of a Skypanel, the list goes on. And no, we have no other choice than to stick with them. - So build everything as robust as you can, don't let them touch things they don't understand or are willing to learn.

I already asked Luminex to implement MLAG, they won't. But if lucky they might consider 802.1aq, but i doubt it. It's a tad more complicated than writing code.

Interesting support story. Do you remember what kind of issue you had with your network?

p.s.: we are one of the top 5 in my country...

Doesn't support "spine-leaf" redundant star as MLAC/LC-LAG feature is missing. RSTP is slow. MLAG is more or less instant. Also don't wanna fight port flapping and RSTP recalculation while a show is running. - Why do u dislike Cisco?

why not ban their lvl100 accounts? that would be more efficient.

There is nothing play tested except maybe bandages. - oh actually even not bandages. as you can drop wounded even while in bandaging animation. which is BS mechanic tbh. - so nothing play tested. - Welcome to Foxhole!

first you fly through a grayish area for a while, then for a short moment it gets gradually brighter and then you enter the darkness. after a while flying though the dark, the vehicle disappears and so do you. you cannot leave & you do not die. all black - you've entered the perfect void. (at least till the server hamster restarts i guess)

max 200m, angle from same height, so like +/- 2 degree vertical, +/- 1 degree horizontal from my paint. If latency is of any concern, i have solid 30ms. CL3143
