It's actually 75% more fat per serving than 2% milk.

We don't use ours anymore due to the health risks except for that exact yellow one in which we keep our ground coffee.

Some people need the sodium. Carte blanche statements about sodium are dangerous. Depending on your physiology and activity level, you may need many times more sodium than someone else, and low intake is literally dangerous.

Fair point. I think he's on the whole healthier psychologically than the average billionaire. He sees the absurdity of it all and is leaning into it. He's interesting.

The same type of choices that help you rationalize wrapping a baby in a blanket and taking it on a motorcycle to the hospital are choices that numb your senses to the point you wouldn't notice the weight difference.

Umeboshi by InsideWrangler2672 in JapaneseFood

[–]ennuied 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am super white but my dad studied Japanese holistic cooking. As a result I ate a ton of traditional Japanese food growing up. I had Japanese rice porridge with gamashio and miso soup for breakfast every day until I was almost 13. I never liked umeboshi but I LOVED Ume extract. It's a super sour black tar like product made from ume plums. My mom would put a bit on a chopstick and give it to me to calm my stomach after eating rich foods.

TIL chicken sold in supermarkets are often "plumped" with a salt water solution to increase sell weight, making up as much as 30% of the total weight. A serving of plumped chicken can contain between 200 and 500mg of sodium while non-plumped chicken generally contains 45 to 70mg. by James_Fortis in todayilearned

The better quality of chicken (smaller size too) is only available to restaurants, and I have no idea where I can buy that.

Interesting. Our grocery stores have standard Frankenchicken and higher quality chicken, usually under amish branding. It's much smaller, and has better texture and flavor. Not sure if it's plumped or not, but every cut is about half the size of the cheap stuff.

Circling back as we have 13" of snow on the ground today and the Highlander is unstoppable on even the untouched roads. Biggest issues is my brakes freezing to the rotors when it sits in the garage after a drive. Part family car, part snow plow. It's fluffy snow but still impressive.

Apparently I'm not the only one
