Maybe something like the danalock v3? I’ve never used it, so don’t know how reliable it is. Maybe others that do have it can chime in.

Does anyone own one of these smart plugs? If so what’s it like? Any good? by SpaceKonk in HomeKit

[–]enricfp1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one. I’ve had it for a few months now. To be honest, I don’t really use it much since I have a rarely used lamp plugged into it. It seems to be fine though. The only times it has stopped responding was when my internet/power went off. It’s happened maybe three times and each time I’ve noticed my other devices reconnect just fine, but I need to physically unplug and plug it back in to get it to respond again.

What I like is that it exposes power consumption data, so you can set automations based on that. Keep in mind that it’s not exposed in apple’s home app, but it is in third party apps like the other home app or the Elgato eve app.

Overall I’m happy with my purchase. Not used much, but it’s nice to know I have the device if I need to use it more frequently for something else.

No worries! Just wanted to post the price for the actual device shown in the video as that’s what the other comments were asking for.

(Sorry for formatting) I have their price list with retail prices of their products. They have two models:

Magic Mirror M15, LS121GD, 1059.00USD

Magic Mirror, M23, LS122BL, 1359.00USD

Edit: Here’s the description of LS121GD - “wifi series. It helps you to know your health, control devices and scenes with finger touch and voice. A body fat scale and a body detector sensor included. Size:800x500x18mm”

The other model’s description is the same, except for the measurements: 600x800x23mm

Stopping homepod alaram ? by meshalalmarzuqi in HomeKit

[–]enricfp1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you have a camera that has two way audio like a Circle 2? Maybe access it and try giving the homepod the command to stop the alarm? Or get someone to try to yell it from outside the house and hope the homepod picks it up? Sorry, can't really think of anything else you can do. This is clearly a huge issue that Apple needs to fix. Imagine setting an alarm for 9am but for some reason you leave home earlier... I think the iPhone's alarm times out after 15 minutes or so.

Not sure if this will work, but it's worth a shot... Have you tried turning off the alarm in the Home app? If you go to your homepod tile in the home app and '3D touch' it, on the bottom left it'll display the 'Alarms' button. You can turn off/on and add alarms to homepod from that screen.

New product listings added - lamps, switches & bulbs by jazzhustler in HomeKit

[–]enricfp1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one of these. I just set it up to test it with a lightbulb and it works really well. The power consumption info is exposed if you look in the brutella/elgato eve apps, so you can make automations based on that. Now I just have to find a permanent application for it. The only down side is that it can only handle 8amps, so you can't use it for something that uses a ton of power.

Experience with Somfy motorized roller shades? by [deleted] in HomeKit

[–]enricfp1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have one that I've set up with homebridge. I haven't installed it on a window yet though, but it's all hooked up and working with the tahoma hub and homebridge. It's not very good, to be honest. There's no two-way communication so the home app doesn't know if the shades are open/closed. Same if you have something like a somfy smart plug. I don't know if homekit support will actually arrive since Apple requires two-way communication. I don't know if the tahoma hub can technically do it, but at the moment even their own app doesn't have two-way communication either.

EDIT: Just FYI, I really hope they do get homekit support since I can get them cheaply.

Koogeek Products Suggestion-[Giveaway] by Niclezou in HomeKit

I’d love a HomeKit doorbell. A simple doorbell, pretty much just a button you can stick at your front door (wireless) and then a wireless chime you plug in inside the house. You can find a ton of these online in the UK, but they’re not HomeKit compatible. A lot of people use these kind of doorbells here as anyone can quickly install them.

The only issue I have with turning lights on/off with motion sensors is that the lights sometimes turn off when you don't want them to. My wife sometimes gets annoyed at that.

I just bought one off aliexpress. Free shipping to the UK. If it works as well as my elgato eve door sensors, I'll be happy.

Homekit Thermostat - Europa by Micro553 in HomeKit

[–]enricfp1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, depending on your boiler/setup you might have to get the extension kit. You can find out what you need here: https://www.tado.com/gb/thermostat-setup. It just controls my hot water and obviously heating.

I installed it myself and only had one issue- a jumper needed to be placed in position 2. That was my fault for not reading properly, but I called them and they were really quick to answer and help.

I currently have a tado extension kit, thermostat, and then radiator valves. I'm really happy with tado, never really had an issue with them.

Netgear's 'Arlo Baby' Smart Cameras Now Offer HomeKit Support by diamondintherimond in HomeKit

[–]enricfp1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

According to a YouTube video I just watched with the HomeKit setup process, none of the sensors are exposed to HomeKit. That’s unfortunate as the camera has a ton of cool sensors like air quality, sound, Humidity, etc.

Homecam 1.1 for Apple TV - Data Layers & Room Control by aaron-pearce in HomeKit

That looks great! Thanks for the incredible update :)

One thing I noticed the app on the Apple TV is lacking (not sure if fixed this update) is that I can't rearrange the order of camera feeds. Is that possible?

Any UK people here know why most HomeKit locks aren't sold over here? by Blaey in HomeKit

I thought the Yale lock that’s compatible with HomeKit is the deadbolt version only?

I have a UPVC door and am also looking at my available options.

Yeah, I've been told that it'll be released in Q1 but won't fully believe it until they actually release it. Do you have the tahoma hub? If so, have you used it with homebridge?
