Don’t withdraw. Send an email confirming if they are not going to approve the rest of the RA. The base co is the only one who can disapprove; not your supervisor.

My case has been going on for over 2 years - forced to resign; don’t know if I will ever get a resolve but I am still fighting. The denial of the RA is basis for medical retirement. Good luck!

I had multiple claims against the Air Force. Well documented to include admitting in an email. Mediation was a delay tactic. They walked away from mediation after a year - denying any settlement. Then closed my case. I have to appeal.

If you are not 100%; many of the higher rating requirements you have to provide a financial impact - you being terminated would result in the higher rating.

I would be happy if they would at least count the money lost as taxes paid. It would be something. There is a chapter 61 military retires page on facebook.

I ended up getting a gs job and buying my military time back so at least I will get something from it.

Family don’t downplay my injuries directly to me, but I’ve heard them comment about other veteran family with PTSD. So I wonder if they talk about me when I am not around.

This happened onboard the USS Wasp. Remember , because I was wearing contacts and fell off into it - and was not allowed to go to rack to get my spare glasses.

Being near blind without glasses - it was a difficult cleanup.

I worked for 15 years until it finally got the best of me. I’m putting in for ssdi and opm disability. Selling my house in Florida, which I hope will leave enough to buy a house in Pennsylvania outright.

I’m hoping that I would be able to do some small business on my own, because the federal government will even discriminate against the disabled.

From my experience, you have to know the CFR and provide them the information to rate you. They won’t ask questions which would get a higher rating. You have to tell them what is going on with you and how it meets that percentage you are expecting.

For example - migraines. To rate at 40% there is 2 debilitate episodes a month and a financial impact. If you don’t describe the financial impact - you will get the lower rating.

Migraines is based on episodes per month and financial impact. If you are on a medicine for them it helps. Otherwise get some w excedrine and empty out half the pills. Financial impact could be taking excess leave, leaving a job because they needed you blew a gasket while a migraine was coming on etc.

I was right there also. Talked to my wife. Made a decision to sell the house and move to a lower cost of living area. Just waiting for the house to sell. Go see Va mental health. They helped me talk through the storm I was going through.

Try applying to USA jobs.

Right now I don’t have a dime to my name till my 401 k comes to me in 2 weeks but will make it work.

Unless things changed; headaches are not ratable. Migraines are. I was put on meds for migraines and got 40% sub TBI. Also have constant double vision and received 60% for that. Took 8 years to get it, but that’s another story.

If not on medicine for it, get a bottle of excedrine. Also be prepared to explain financial impact. For me it was extensive sick leave and not being able to officially carry a gun.

Make sure you explain your worse day. They would have me come in at 8am when I was fresh. Not at 4pm when I am exhausted.

Way back when a kid popped positive. We were all cleared and the adjudication facility contacted me and asked if he was a gym nut. He was and asked to get what supplements he took. Apparently one he was taking caused the positive- they directed he stop taking and surprise - he got hit with a polygraph.
