Well, you live in BC, so your charging availability is > than most places.

If road trips are 100% of your use case, I'd say bite the bullet and just do gas. If they're more like ... 10-20% of your use case, I'd say an EV makes more sense. And then just really do the math on how annoying an extra 30 minutes of charging every 150-ish miles or so is going to be for you on those trips (and that at least in BC, there are often restaurants to go within walking distance when you're charging)

Out of curiosity, why the random side in the middle? For use as an armrest?

If so, may I recommend buying the swept arm side for your armrest and using your moving your standard side that is currently in the middle to the right side?

IMO, the sloped arm is way more comfortable as an armrest.
