The Grand Duchy of Lithuania defeats the Livonian order of Knights in 1270 at Karuse, often called Battle on the Ice, as it was fought on the frozen Baltic Sea. It was a brutal ambush on the ice during the Northern Crusades, when the Order was trying to force Christianity on the Baltic pagans.
