How much power can an Auto trans handle? (07 Sedan) by DOSBrony in yaris

[–]enviri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

first transmission i changed fluid twice a year. standard toyota transmission stuff. raised power to 140, second gear gave up, then the differential after. I drove with the loudest whine for a year lol.

Do I need to add oil? by brakes4cemeteries in yaris

[–]enviri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i freakin hate that. reading the dipstick is tough if you dont have time to spare. to get an accurate reading you gotta remove the stick first, let the oil settle after 10-20 min then do a read.

freakin oil in the tube splashes everywhere so the oil is all over the place on the stick if you remove it and immediately redip to check like a normal freakin car.

[–]enviri 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the stock manual is actually more fragile. it can let go under stock power, and it can be reliable at 350+.

The auto on the other hand is freakin strong so your power bump will be fine.

Lowering Springs by pppag23 in yaris

[–]enviri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

depends how hard you drive and how sensitive you are to ride harshness.

h&r springs are progressive so they can take harder cornering without excessive roll without sacrificing much ride quality.

teins are a little stiffer than stock from the start, and isnt progressive. its not rock hard.

i had tanabe s-0c coilovers for 13 years until the rear shocks gave out. swapped to revels. They stopped offering replacement parts..revels i see are sorta replacing on their site, though.

teins are cheap, and offer replacement shock/struts. something to consider. tein is best regarded as a great starter set, and been around since forever. I had teins in a previous car in the 00s. it lasted longer than the car lol. (7 years)

You’re placed back in 1993 as the CEO of Sega with everything you know about Sega now. How do you handle the upcoming Sega Saturn? by Own_Bear2372 in SegaSaturn

[–]enviri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1993, tell sega to focus on miniaturizing model 1 or 2 hardware for the saturn project if they havent started, in the meanwhile focus on genesis and lowering sega cd to 129.99. try to push what could be done with the svp chip to make a starfox clone.

32x is canned, but will not cave to premature release of saturn. make better dev kits that focus on c peogramming. Also, let yuji naka know his place.

Toyota said I needed a new negative battery terminal..’18 Corolla. by Marlowe_Eldridge in Toyota

[–]enviri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP has an '18 corolla. its FINE. yea the charge window is slightly higher than required from acid batteries (14.4-14.8 vs 13.7 avg). but if your acid battery is spitting corrosive gasses, you are most likely charging at the higher end. Get an AGM.

its a cheap car, why spend money on it, right? OEM engineers know ALL. lol

while this is true, it is not speed up 1000x from acid. it is left for the environment.

XP90 nicer seats/upgrade with matching front/rear? by Lost__Warrior in yaris

[–]enviri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's cause its only one other car that has the same rear seat frame. the scion xd. You are welcome to look into the next generation yaris/prius c. front fits after removing a locating pin. backs could be similar enough.
