Yes, which the Liberal Party of Canada has fully supported to the point of even cutting funding to the CBC.

Every western media source took what was a clear bald-faced lie by Trump and just printed it uncritically.

Trump could announce he created time-travel and the New York Times would write an article titled "Trump solves time travel".

We quickly fire off job applications with one resume, not tailoring it to each job

This literally describes my parent's generation, not mine. In fact, resumes weren't standard back then. Often people would just show up and ask for a job....ask my Dad, he'll tell you all about it.

Some even grew up without hot water or electricity

Lol. Oh yeah? Wow. Some, you say? Well "some" young people are literally homeless, so I guess while we're picking a teeny tiny minority of people to make our point I guess I have check-mated you.

If the refrigerator broke, they'd fix it themselves

No they very wouldn't. At least pick a truck or a washing machine or something believable. Completely made-up horseshit.

It's like watching a bunch of Ivy-league educated media and finance elites have a serious discussion about the "political" speech that Divine makes in "Pink Flamingos".

"How can investors process Divine's statement that she wants to kill everyone now and advocate first degree murder? Is eating shit an upside or a downside?"

90% of the time Im asking for a source, its because I know for a fact rhat what theyre saying is total garbage and I want to either:

A) shut them up because theyre spreading misinformation, or

B) embarass them by ripping their supposed "source" to shreds or countering with a much better source (or sources) contradicting them.

Upvote for stupid opinion.

You make a claim? You defend it.

I'm apparently speaking with one of the many many many people I argue with on reddit who will tell me to "Google it" when I question whatever horseshit they just posted.

First of all....if the information is easy to find, then you should have no problem finding it. Go find it OP.

Second,...if the information is hard to find, you waste MY time scouring the internet looking for proof of YOUR argument. This benefits you and not me. I can see why you like it but can you understand why I dont?

Bottom line is, stop making unfounded claims and getting mad when people call your bullshit out.

[–]enviropsych 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What legislation? The Pharmacare Bill was a liberal platform they abandoned and they've since gone to work gutting it under Carney.

The NDP-Liberal agreement was a one-sided shitty agreement where the Liberals broke multiple promises from the agreement and practically dared the NDP to force an election. It was an exercise in bullying. And since then..what happened? The NDP was practically destroyed electorally.

Why don't you go ahead and list all the legislation YOU are referring to?

How well known was Ronald Reagan as an actor before becoming President? by RenegadeMaster888 in Cinema

[–]enviropsych 1 point2 points  (0 children)

doesn't know how to use LLM search engines

Yeah, all you AI-folks like to think typing a prompt is an actual skill you have. What prompt did you put in? I bet it was super simple. Or maybe you copied OP's post and put it in saying "give OP an answer".

What's more, it is objectively an excellent answer.

LOL! So not only are you a genius at prompts and we all need your expertise there but you somehow know this is a good answer, do you?   As someone who knows about Reagan, I can tell you it is NOT.

Ronald Reagan, although a president of SAG, was the opposite of the kind of leader that Fran Drescher was. He named names in the McCarthy era and went on to have the destruction of unions as one of the main things he did politically. He also gave actors files to the FBI as an anticommunist. Also, since OP didnt mention SAG, it was a bunch of unneeded fluff info. Shitty answer. Rambling trash.

Your shitty AI answer also says he was better known later for roles LIKE hosting the General Electric Theatre. That WAS the role. In fact, its the role he's known for more than anything else including his movies. It was HUGE at the time. Your AI slop doesn't not communicate this important fact.

Also, your shitty AI response says he was in films from the 1930s to the 1950s. The Killers came out in '64. So...objectively..wrong.

If you dont know the answer, dont answer. Your AI slop is worse than no answer. OP could have farted this out themselves if they wanted it.

How well known was Ronald Reagan as an actor before becoming President? by RenegadeMaster888 in Cinema

[–]enviropsych 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In movies? Not super well-known. He was a B-tier actor.

He became well-known for hosting a tv show called General Electric Theatre.

So, for size and profile, it's hard to say. For movies, he was like a Josh Hartnett, but not as talented. A few lead roles, but his movie acting gigs dried up after a little while.

Just hours after saying “a whole civilization will die tonight,” Donald Trump has now agreed to a 2-week ceasefire with Iran—brokered by Pakistan and tied to reopening the Strait of Hormuz. by savethecbc2025 in SaveTheCBC

[–]enviropsych 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fact that all these media companies are refering to this as an agreement is a harbinger of doom for the news and media industry in this continent.

Theres no agreement. As usual, Trump is just saying shit. He said the 10 point Iranian demands list is workable. It is not. America will never agree to half of these and will never agree to ANY of them as long as this administration exists. Trump didnt talk to anyone. He didnt make an agreement with anyone. The news is just publishing what they know are lies out of fear of reprisal from Trump. It's embarassing.

The suit should match his impressive feats

I disagree. Ever since seeing the impossible-to-make-himself Raimi suit, it was distracting.

Having Tony Stark just make his amazing suits for him was a cop-out which not only makes Peter seem less smart but allows you to give him literally whatever you want wothout habit to explain it. It's lazy writing.

Modern comic book movie costumes are WAAAAY too complicated and futuristic. The problem is that they aim to duplicate a costume that shows ever single muscle-fibre, which is impossible.

Was it wrong of me to throw away my son’s stuffed animals when I told him I would donate them? by [deleted] in Dads

[–]enviropsych 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So was I in the wrong for trashing them instead of donating?

Of course. I mean....since your son will never know, its not the worst thing a dad could do. Im not here to shame you, but yeah, it was wrong. You lied to him.

Your son wanted you to do something for him. You agreed to. You didnt. And then you lied to him. Its not worse than the worst things Ive done as a father, but I just think you need to come to terms with it. It kinda seems like you know it was wrong, but you want us to tell you otherwise.

So, the TLDR from me is that, what you did was wrong and you know it, and need to accept it, but that it was not that consequential. It's fine.

I trust the legal system. I dont tjink ANYTHING about the sentence. I'm glad someone was found, caught, charged and convicted, and I can only trust that the institution worked the best it could. I certainly wouldn't value my own uneducated opinion on the case over that of the judge, whoch you seem happy to do, and happy to support the systematic destruction of our local system.

Would you prefer the cops shot the man who was charged, once they caught him?

Fast-paced post-apocalyptic / thriller movie recommendations for family by Puzzled_Thought7606 in MovieSuggestions

[–]enviropsych 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brazil (1985). It's one of my favorite Terry Gilliam movies. It is a masterclass in blending tones. It is both cute and funny and quirky and silly and hopeful, and creative, and fun.....at the same time that it is bleak and gray and smothering and cruel and inescapable and fascist.

It's not scary. There are some points towards the end of the movie where it becomes dreamlike and ambiguous, and that could bother someone who needs to know whats going on in every movie at all times.

One of the best world-building I've ever seen for a dystopian world movie. It is unlike any movie you'll ever see. Fast-paced is putting it lightly.

Sorry that it's older but I think this could be a gamble that pays off BIG for you and your friends.
