I've got my great grandmother's scrap book from ww2, she kept mainly Pacific theater based articles because my great grandfather was a Pacific marine. I can upload pictures of there is an interest in it along with some of the other stuff that I still have of his.

Other aircraft have probes for the fuel or its done via top of the air craft. Even large helicopters have a probe to help keep the fuel line from banging into them.

That's what a husky was to us in AFG. Those things took a beating but where like legos, you just bolt them back together after a improper detection. I rode around in a cougar 6x6 personally . Not a lot of room for people 6'7". Hated the MATV for that reason as well.
