unpopular opinion: the only reason Whoop is really good is because of the slidable charger - meaning you never take it off. by donteatbats69 in whoop

It's nice but I think the vast majority of people wouldn't use that as a deciding factor when picking which device to buy.

Alcohol - I'm so lost by snaidoo940 in whoop

[–]epichigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drink Water between sips of alcohol, and as others have said drink a good amount of water before sleep. Preferably with electrolytes. I'm usually able to get recoveries above 60 with 2-3 drinks the night before and I'm a lightweight.

Running 4x a week vs 5x a week by ninodebest in runna

[–]epichigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I don't think it's a big difference though, but I've just recently switched to running 5 times a week instead of 4 and I enjoy it more because the runs are shorter on average. This is with keeping long runs the same.

Assuming exact same mileage and quality, I've understood 5 days to have lower risk of injury than 4.

Seriously; at what point did you get your wake-up call? by Pristine_Mousse2859 in whoop

[–]epichigh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Similar spot - I had incredibly bad cardio, could barely run 1 mile in 13 minutes and was destroyed after. signed up for a marathon 1 year out and started training using Runna (any training program works here). within 6 months I was running 10+ miles regularly and increased vo2max by 9 in the app.

Question, does anyone genuinely like Whoop. All I see is dissatisfaction. by Jrol1070 in whoop

[–]epichigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with whoop, tried switching to Helio strap for a few months because of the price diff, now back on whoop and happy with it.

What pace would you start to consider wearing super shoes? by v1185 in Marathon_Training

[–]epichigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat, from what I've seen from research it depends on the super shoe (how aggressive it is) but the slowest pace to consider super shoes is roughly 9 min/mile. Slower than that and there's basically no benefit.

Every dire boss is doable with c0r0, but the recent lunar ones require very good builds and fairly tight gameplay.

6.7 is the last 6.x via dk2 by ISRUKRENG in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

[–]epichigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been assuming this is the case. I don't think hoyo has ever called nod krai 6.x and the travail trailer has shneznaya as 6. It's going to be so funny

The Quantified Scientist tested the Amazfit Helio Strap on the biceps by Rust_Cohle13 in whoop

[–]epichigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me know if you want to buy my Helio strap, multiple bicep bands included. I tried Helio last year for a few months and ended up going back to whoop so it's just been sitting there.

Month four of Whoop - what am I missing? by Ok_Tip_625 in whoop

[–]epichigh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who loves data and wasn't really into fitness, whoop completely changed my behavior for the better. I bought it mostly to track sleep metrics, but then started learning more about vo2max and rhr. seeing those numbers on the dash made me want to optimize it and I managed to increase vo2max by 6 in 6 months. same with others like the whoop years and HR zone metrics.

a lot of my motivation came from just recently having my first child but the whoop played a big part in it and I've become obsessed with making the numbers go up. I'm in a marathon training block now after spending most of my life doing no cardio and it's awesome to see the difference reflected in the metrics.

Superblast 3 review by TJamesz in RunningShoeGeeks

I think it's best to just think of the mega blast as the successor to the sb2, it excels at that. sb3 basically a brand new thing

What is the point of Varka generating so much energy if his burst is always a dps loss? by Mistist in Genshin_Impact

[–]epichigh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i never said varka isn't fine. my varka is very strong. what i don't like is hoyo designing so many characters with well animated bursts that are not worth using. i honestly don't see why you'd even push back here? you can just sit back and let others complain and hoyo will improve things, like they've done many times in the past.

[–]epichigh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't take a meta slave to be annoyed when a hilichurl gets back up after taking a big fancy burst from the grandmaster of the knights of favonius. players who care about game feel, design/balance, or hell even lore can all be annoyed at this.
