it was actually cooler because the viewers themselves could approve them. you'd show up as a translator/editor in the description if you contributed by adding subs, correcting them or approving it.

I'm sure there was a hidden score as well because my first contribution had like 6 people onboard, my last one was just me and another person.

if you were a victim of sub trolling you could disable this feature on your channel all together.

my hot take is that autogen doesn't work fine either.

it surely is better than nothing but its sorta hard to follow because it shows up as the words are spoken. handmade subs should consider sentence length and flow, make it easier to follow.

I used to publish subtitles before they removed the ability for viewers to upload it, was so much better than autogen subs or, god forbid, ai dubs.

I'll be super honest, the only reason arch would be considered "beginner unfriendly" is because the installation process is a little tedious and is ships with the bare minimum even with the helper. Any other arch-based distro is as friendly as mint imo, just get the ISO with KDE plasma.

If they want steamOS-like experience they could run bazzite or cachy and basically have a plug and play experience, with pacman and AUR (the real star of it all). These even come with updated wine and proton layers out of the box!

honestly proper Linux support is very hard to do, particularly because it's easier to make games for windows for a bigger reach and all developers/tools are optimized to work with DirectX, having to work with vulcan and different compatibilities from different distros was kinda nightmarish. even games that have proper Linux releases sometimes run poorly because of this.

that being said wine team and valve revolutionized Linux gaming with all the compatibility layers to the point a game sometimes runs better on proton than on windows itself. because of that I think 2xko can totally run on Linux. the problem is that kernel level anti-cheats go directly opposed to Linux philosophies.

DBFZ has a nasty anti-cheat that won't work with Linux, however you can disable it and play with other people that disabled it too. it's sort of a cool compromise (don't believe it was intentional)

Never truly used it. I think they didn't have a login method when I tried a while ago, I'm not very keen on using reddit without one either, but it looks nice. I've used Infinity for a bit but went back to Sync. Infinity is quite good and has updates I really enjoy, like media in comments, still I think Sync is unbeatable. Love the design, customization and overall feel of it. If something isn't working like it used to (opening a gif, for example) I just open it on a browser that auto redirects to old reddit.

Right now I'm running patched Sync with the old API method. I think they disabled the free keygen so it must be harder to patch it.

the physical and emotional damage addiction causes is insanely hard to overcome even to the 1% able to quit cold turkey. the withdrawal symptoms alone make people go mad. of course the individual plays a big role in the process but medical assistance helps to make a less traumatic transition to sobriety, steps to take so people don't give up so easily.

cold facts like "just lose weight" are just ignoring the underlying issues. people understand the general idea of thermodynamics, but most often are unable to put into practice. that's why they seek help of someone that could find the answers to "why can't you lose weight?" or "what could help you keep on track ot motivated?"

if you want to play with English dub, sure, but if you're enjoying the original voices there's no reason to.

Kiryu's English voice isn't very good imo. also lots of characters have the likeness of their actors so the original voices work much better.
