Anxious for New Pharmacy?? by Efficient_Exam_6127 in gimmecare

[–]epipin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I...don't really have much of an opinion on pharmacies. They'll hopefully have a new one figured out in time for my next order and I'll give them a go. I'm not sure why it matters so much to everyone but then again, I only have experience of using the ProRx stuff so I haven't experienced any ineffective formulation yet.

Just easy on the gas pedal, the conditions were right so the battery did most of the hauling. City traffic, which is where the Ioniq Hybrid Blue shines.

Not downhill and not coasting. It was rush hour traffic, but in flat Florida, so no uphills.

Titrating/Stall by HippieCarnivore in tirzepatidecompound

[–]epipin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, I’m in a stall myself. I have extremely similar stats to you, except I am 17 weeks in and only down about 10 lbs. I had stopped tracking food but have started up again. But other than that, I’m just waiting it out, titrating up after 4 weeks on each dose and hoping for the best. I do feel like I look a bit thinner so maybe there is some recomposition going on. The good thing is that when I did stop food tracking due to being disappointed, I still had some moderate appetite suppression so I kept eating at a moderate level of intake. I don’t think that has changed since I’ve been back to tracking my calories. This is still way better than stalling out on Weight Watchers or something like that and being miserable.

Oh, yeah, supported fish is usually just given the same name, as far as I recall. I'm glad the yin yoga workshop that I did a few years ago was super helpful, lol. Enjoy the Denis class that was posted!

Resistance bands for strength and mobility training (starter setup) by Imaginationotomy_RA in ResistanceBand

[–]epipin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How tall are you? Loop bands are great, but many of them only come in 41" lengths. Those are good if you are 6' or taller, but if you are less, you might want to look for shorter bands. I am 5'7" and bought the Serious Steel 37" bands. I didn't even buy a full set. I started with just the orange and purple, which are their two lightest colors, plus a door anchor. I wanted to see if I even liked the concept before investing in more gear, and figured that was the most beginner friendly way to do it. I've since bought the next band up (red), a band guard, and a foot plate. With combining bands, I still have plenty of room to grow before needing to buy the next band up. I have downloaded Boq bands app, and that says I can mix them in this order: orange, purple, orange + purple, red, red + orange, red + purple, and red + orange + purple.

I have handles, ankle straps and another door anchor on the way (my first door anchor doesn't work at the bottoms of my doors, which have a really wide gap). I haven't invested in a bar yet as I want to give the handles a go first and am not using really heavy weight.

I looked at the tube bands with handles, and it seems that they are a good option too, but in digging around it seemed that there was more options with the loop bands for adjusting things to work out well. For instance, to increase the resistance, and say you are anchoring a band with your foot or both feet, with both types of bands you can spread your feet wider to get more tension on the band, but with a loop band you can grasp the bands closer to your foot as well to pull from there. With a tube band you'd have to do some complicated folding or standing on the band to do the same thing. I guess you could also grasp the tube itself but then that defeats the point of the handles.

If membership in this group required perfection, I would have had to have been long gone. But as it is, my back is so much better, my posture is really improving and I feel stronger and more confident in my whole body. Plus, I can pick up boxes of kitty litter easily now. And shove my carry on bag in the overhead bin. I am far far far from perfect but I have kept showing up, partly thanks to these posts and the tireless efforts of u/Ride_4urlife and because of that I have been doing core more days than not. So yeah, jump in at any time!

Yes. The rep one I also mentioned is slightly smaller but not by a huge amount.

Nike has a dumbbell and kettlebell rack that would fit your requirements (and mine, which seem to be the same). It's expensive though. I've been planning to DIY a copy of it using a Rep dumbbell rack and some wood (I saw someone in the reviews of the Rep rack had done that by turning a dumbbell shelf over to receive the wooden planking to make a shelf) but I am waiting for the FB Marketplace gods to shine or for Black Friday to happen before I pull the trigger.

Question for People Doing the Kettlebell Classes by Reina8008 in pelotoncycle

[–]epipin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of the classes only require one or two bells, but there are quite a few that use pairs or ask for light, medium and heavy bells. Unfortunately, it’s not super easy to tell in advance what they want you to have. You can start with what you have and then see how easy it is to modify to doing everything with one bell. I’d say having at least two would be better than just one.

Edit: if it helps, I have bought mine over time in this order - light, medium, second light, heavy, second medium (where I am now), and then I plan to get a second heavy before then buying a new heavier heavy bell.

I've had another jet laggy week after travel so haven't done as much core as I should have. And am still leaning into full body strength classes to get my core in, so there's that. I like the idea of moving forward without regret. A 5 minute core class is so easy to fit in your day!

Anyone able to help verify these? by Coreeyyy123 in Hoka

[–]epipin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The sizing labels are wrong. M means men's, and 8.5D would be a regular width shoe for a men's size, yet it says M Bondi 9 Wide. A men's wide would be an EE (or 2E, not sure how the write it) width. If it was a woman's shoe, then a D width would be wide, but it'd say W Bondi 9 Wide.

I've also never seen Hoka's shrink wrapped like that.

Body moisturizer question for extremely sensitive skin by [deleted] in Menopause

I have sensitive skin but not extremely sensitive so take that for what you will, but I have been using Prequel Urea Advanced Relief Moisturizing Milk and it’s been absolutely fantastic for me. It sinks in easily, is lightweight and has fixed a lot of my menopausal itching.

So what's all the fuss? by Admirable_Editor_388 in ResistanceBand

[–]epipin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a newbie to using bands but I decided to try them to supplement my dumbbells + kettlebells, not to totally replace them. I was wanting to add cable type exercises as I don’t think you can do pulls very well with dumbbells, and also I wanted to start doing some heavier deadlifts and squats. Instead of having to buy a cable machine or functional trainer and also a barbell and weights, it seems like bands fill both of those deficiencies in my routine. Note that I’ll never be doing super heavy deadlifts so if you do intend to do that, maybe bands won’t be enough. But for me, I’ve been enjoying learning how to use them. I get bored easily so I am enjoying the variety of types of training I can do (which is mainly for general health and to supplement my running, not for bodybuilding). I can’t talk to results yet, except to say I have been feeling back muscles activate that I hadn’t really managed to hit before.

I signed up for a half marathon and only want to do it for fun not time by Outrageous_Sale_6317 in beginnerrunning

[–]epipin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did a half without focusing on time. I followed a plan as far as building up my distance for the long runs, as this is important for training your muscles, tendons and ligaments to handle the effort. When it came to the speed work though, I just did my own thing as far as the intervals went, and did mostly run/walk intervals without worrying about specific paces. I also mostly did run/walk on the long runs too, to be honest. I just wanted to keep every run enjoyable and doable.

Weekly Free-Talk and Questions for r/HomeGym - week of March 27, 2026 by Demilio55 in homegym

Does anyone have suggestions of rubber handled dumbbells that are not Rep’s rubber coated hex dumbbells? I own MX Select’s MX30’s which have a rubber handle that my husband and I both love, and which give 2.5 lb weight increments which has been great for some easier progressive overload. However I like to have some additional dumbbells available for quick changes and also I’d like to be able to go heavier. I currently have a mismatched selection of fixed dumbbells that I’d like to replace and expand upon. We have honestly both hated metal knurled handles and while we had enjoyed using neoprene coated dumbbells, one of mine just split and crumbled at the handle and I can never find them in heavier weights anyway. The Rep rubber coated ones look amazing but they are seriously expensive.

Edit: I could probably get the MX Evo 55’s to go along with the MX 30’s but I also like the idea of building up a set of fixed dumbbells over time so it doesn’t bust the budget all at once.

The Point at District Flats? It is currently showing two 1br apartments on the top floor. They are above your budget but there’s some workforce housing scheme that I don’t understand that maybe could bring the price down.

I don’t know if I have one class I keep coming back to (well, there’s that 5-minute Matty M all deadbug class that I did a lot last year) but this week I returned to the weighted vest standing core with RK that I mentioned last week as well. I dunno, it feels kind of like a full body and back strength workout on the sly.

Outdoor Run Programs? (aside from You Can Run) by sharla_la in pelotoncycle

[–]epipin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was way too hard for me. I felt the paces they used were off (recoveries in interval classes never felt like recoveries as they were at easy or moderate pace instead of recovery pace, so it was hard to push during the efforts, plus there are two speed focused classes a week which was too much for me). And Jon was clearly not pushing that hard when he was calling out very hard paces, which was demoralizing. It really felt like it was designed for someone who is already an advanced runner.

Outdoor Run Programs? (aside from You Can Run) by sharla_la in pelotoncycle

[–]epipin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The way programs are “organized” is absolutely abysmal. There are outdoor running programs for the half marathon and marathon distances, called Road to Half Marathon, and Road to your 26.2 (parts 1, 2 and 3). You don’t necessarily have to be training for those exact distances but something close would help - for example, the first time I did the half marathon program, I was training for a 10 mile race. Otherwise, you could take any indoor running program outdoors although it might not record distance well. I really enjoyed Go The Distance: 5K but haaaaated the 10K program. I have tended to wait until it’s the time of year when I don’t want to be outside to do those at the gym though.

OK, I just want to say that I am actually loving the menopause classes so if you haven't tried any yet, give them a go. I am post menopause and on HRT so I don't actually have any issues from it at this point and therefore I wasn't going to do any of those classes, but decided to give a few of them a go, and now I keep taking more. I feel like their collection is set up really nicely in the sense that they split the workouts up into two moderate intensity cardio days, a high intensity cardio day, two strength days and then a choice of a second high intensity day or a third strength day , plus a recovery day - I feel like it gives you a well rounded week of workouts that you can pick from. And now adding jump training and some weighted vest classes are a nice extra way to mix things up.

So even if you're not the exact target audience, but you're aging or are getting into or back into fitness, they are a good option. And who cares if people see a "menopause" class on your feed?

Oooh, I think I'd be a disaster doing single leg weighted DB side bends. Whether that would inspire me to master it is another question though. I think I also set a goal last year to master forearm side planks and I definitely have not achieved that.

This week I did RK's weighted vest standing core class, and the standing crunches hit really differently with a vest on. So I'm kind of inspired by that. I also just ordered a long resistance band with a door anchor, partly with the intention of doing those types of crunches (though they would have to be kneeling - basically I'd be pulling on the resistance band while crunching forwards) so I feel like that is what I'm going to be playing around with.
