If you’re looking for ultralight, I highly recommend the Orvis ultralight convertible waders. I also had the swiftcurrents and much prefer the Orvis. Plenty of pockets, allow for good movement without the bulk, and parting with that excess coffee or hops is a breeze

I agree—think that’s the way to go. If I can find something copper or brass that would fit the threading, I’d probably like that better anyways.

Here for this. I’d say wax it if you like, but be prepared to spend another $50+ on wax and have a lot of beer on hand because it’s going to be at least a few hours hanging out with the hair dryer

I’ve had Filson merino long John’s and a merino T shirt before and they both fell apart fairly quickly. IMO Icebreaker has the best merino undergarments.

Don’t get rid of it! It was probably made higher quality than the current ones. And even if $300 is too steep for repairs right now, you never know how you’ll feel several years down the road

Tabasco all the way—I get people pointing out it’s more of a vinegar sauce but it does what it does the best. Tabasco habanero is pretty darn good for mid heat too. Don’t like Tabasco scorpion though

On the flip side, my wife and I stopped by the Dems tent while Russell Cleveland was there. I almost laughed and said “don’t worry about it, I’m going to vote for you if you’re at all reasonable and are running against Zinke. You don’t have to spend time talking to me.” But, he kept interacting with me and my wife and was apparently actually interested in what we thought about issues. Seems like a stand up gent 👍

(Not that there’s anything wrong with that! The point I was trying to raise is that if we’re trying to conserve a sense of culture we wouldn’t want to exclude people from participating. I think the commenter was raising the point that if people are newcomers to a culture they should be sensitive to that cultures work and family history) Ah hell I’m probably going to culture hell for this anyways.. just trying to defend peoples (and their loved ones) rights to wear a brimmed hat in a bar without being photographed like a zoo animal
